The name of Camping Loire et Châteaux says it all: the camping site lies in the heart of the Val de Loire, the region which is well known for its many castles. The camping site is in a beautiful rural location and radiates in all respects the freedom which makes camping so special. Here you will find numerous amenities for cyclists.
Amenities for cyclists
The spacious camping pitches are beautifully laid out and nice and sunny. The relatively young vegetation does not provide much shade. Camping site Loire et Châteaux is popular with cyclists. There is a dedicated covered area for them where they can prepared their meals and eat. In addition to mobile homes and bungalow tents, the camping site also rents out so-called Campétoiles, tents on stilts providing an ideal accommodation for hikers and cyclists.
Heated outdoor pool
A refreshing swim after a tiring day of cycling, walking or visiting castles? You can do so in the heated outdoor pool next to the restaurant. The swimming pool offers special provisions for guests with physical limitations. The littlest ones can splash around in the paddling pool.
One cannot imagine a French camping site without a petanque court. Hence, you can hit a few balls on this camping site, too. During the months of July and August there are even organised competitions. During this period there are also great theme evenings.
Restaurant and shop
If you don't feel like cooking one day, you can go to the restaurant. They offer a daily menu as well as some basic dishes. You can enjoy a drink on the terrace adjacent to the swimming pool. Basic and regional products are available in the shop.

A pleasant site with reasonable sized pitches and good shower/toilet facilites. The reception were very friendly and helpful. There was a small local market on site on one of the nights we stayed. The narrow roads in the surrounding region would not encourage me to return though, at times they were too narrow for our motorhome!
Nice enough site, but unsupervised children apparently from the village were allowed on site on Saturday night. They were throwing stones near our van and the owner would not address the situation.
Site generally quite and well kept in an excellent location for visiting some of the less well known chateaux. Run by a lovely, friendly family. Wednesday market excellent.
Pitches are quite small and only 3 on the site had water (the tap on one was broken) and have little privacy with almost no hedging. The site on 2 sides is bounded by public roads with some road noise and separated from the road by a low wire fence. Felt that the site lacked a bit of care and maintenance and was not impressed with a large pothole at the site entrance and the rough site access road. Otherwise the site is within walking distance to the local village and the Loire and is an excellent touring base for some of the Chateau in the vicinity
We stayed here for 1 night on way south. Excellent heated showers and toilets. Obviously nothing else open as its their winter times. Walked a short distance to the Loire river and had coffee in a local bar/cafe. Bet it's beautiful in the summer
Stayed over one night on return from Basque region. Excellent campsite, owner couldn't be friendlier or more helpful, can't recommend enough.
Would be lovely in the summer, all facilities really new and well kept. Location is great with an amazing road bridge to cross the Loire.
We visited this campsite out of season so of course it was very quiet. This is one of the best campsites we have stayed on in France. The staff are English speaking, friendly and helpful. The facilities are excellent as are the hard standing pitches - there are also grass pitches but we did not test those out because of the time of year. Nice little village on the edge of the Loire river in walking distance from the site. Lots of cycle and walk ways.
We give this site 10 out of 10 and that is in December so probably even better in season.
Charming owners, delightful heated outdoor pool, very good sanitary facilities.Pitch new grass surface and a bit undulating but otherwise an excellent friendly site
