This site has much to offer. The surrounding area is fantastic from a quaint local village with Baker and a café/bar to the twin town about 7 miles up the road with supermarket and many more shops and facilities. The whole area is amongst countryside and woodland. All pitches have some level of shade available. The sanitary facilities are a bit tired and require modernisation but were clean and functional. Whilst there were sinks next to the toilets, there was no soap or towels/drier to wash your hands For anyone planning to fish the lake; be aware that it is very shallow (about a metre at most) all over and in very hot weather does not produce very well. Also, the Europeans take the fish out rather than returning them so the stock may be declining. However, access to the lake is very good all round. The biggest annoyances during our stay were the wifi and the neighbourhood dogs. Obviously the site has no control of other residents\' dogs, however the wifi situation needs improving. Whilst wifi is free and is available right across the site, access is via sponsored links during logon. This requires you to watch a 30sec video every time you log in. However, since wifi drops out automatically after an hour (and often much less) it becomes a tedious process, repeatedly watching the same sponsor video over and over (there\'s only a choice of three).
Lovely wide open site on a fishing lake. Toilet facilities a bit dated but very clean. The municipal swimming pool is very good but offsite
Easy access from motorway
We planned this as an overnight stop on our way back up from Spain to Calais, then home. This area of France had had much rain and we were very politely asked to park up on a road way / path way instead of an emplacement. No problem as an electric hook up was in easy range. A beautiful site and lovely lake. However the sanitary facilities are in need of up-dating and, while clean, were somewhat smelly.
Very friendly welcome in good English. Lovely site, but pitches are not particularly well demarcated. Not a problem in quiet period. Good toilet facilities (for France).
A lovely site with great pitches. Excellent staff who are very helpful. Excellent as a stopover or longer term staff. A regular for us.
We use this site (& have done for many years) as our stop over both going & coming back from Spain. Staff really do go that extra mile & happily book the vets for us on our return leg. The adjacent pool is now open (it was being refurbished last summer)...only a 10 min walk into the village where there is a cash point, small supermarket, bakers x2 & bar/ resteraunt. Literally just a hop of the motorway.... Lovely gardens to walk around.
Facilities v clean (I'm really fussy lol)....
Ideal stop over....
We have used this site a few times as a stop over. Not good if it has been wet as the grass gets water logged. Not many water taps. Staff lovely. Free wifi. Would recommend as overnighter, lovely town.
We thought that this site gave poor value for money. We stayed for the first weekend in July which was the start of the high season for them. The site was full and busy. The rubbish and recycling bins were overflowing. The toilets ran out of toilet paper. There are only 2 wcs in the gents. The water tap was shared by over a dozen pitches and was in need of renovation. It needed skillful manipulation to stop it. Also the tap was used as an ad hoc dishwahing area which was not very pleasant as it had no drain or soakaway. The vidoir, toilet emptying point was in the far sanitary block; I had to put the toilet into the car boot to take it there. The lake was pleasant but the pitches by it were quickly taken. we will only use this site again in low season as it is not worth paying the full price.
Friendly well maintained site situated on the edge of the village, Marie and her team made us feel very welcome, nothing was to much trouble. We were on a beautiful flat pitch on the edge of the lake and to top it all free fishing.
Sanitary facilities were good and clean, we stayed one week and will definitely return.
Marie made us really welcome and gave us loads of information about the area. We stayed for 3 nights visited the local chateau (there were only 6 other visitors) which was really interesting. Enjoyed the cycling from the site and of course the fishing. This is a great stopover or a place to spend some time. We will definitely go back
