This site is a disgrace. It should not be listed by ACSI. The only good thing is the area in which it is situated.
During stay of 1 week there was seemingly only 1 sanitary block open and there were about 50 Dutch teenagers staying most of the time (they had 8 minibuses). They left the sanitary block in a filthy state each day and the only effort all the time we were there was to clean the floor leaving it very wet so that it immediately got dirty again when campers walked in from the site. The basins in both the shower area and dishwashing and laundry areas were never cleaned. One sink in the dishwashing area was full of a filthy greasy red liquid all the time we were there and remained so on the day we left.
I do not believe it compatable to have such a large number of teenagers on a campsite if other campers/caravanners are expected.
Stayed here on August 19th 2014 - very nice campsite - beautiful setting - good facilities - rained a lot - but would imagine when sunny absolutely glorious.
Interesting campsite, just across the road from the lake. Hard pitches, making pitching tent difficult.
Very noisy till late at night due to youth unsupervised around the site.
Toilets etc not well cleaned, floors left very wet, so immediately dirty again as soon as anyone entered.
Won\'t be coming back.
We were disappointed with this site. The surroundings were beautiful and we were expecting a peaceful four day stay. However, unexpectedly, a live band was playing for the first two nights of our stay and the music filled the camp site and went on until the early hours of the morning. The other problem was the lack of clean toilet facilities. There were no toilet seats, wet toilet paper on the ceiling and some unknown substance smeared on the cubicle walls at least for the length of our stay. Because of the noise and lack of clean facilities we cut our stay to two nights.
We were only going to stop for one night, but because of the lovely quiet surrounds we stayed an extra day. Only adverse comments were the shower rooms were very cold. We would definitely revisit
The campsite is very attractive and plots a good size. However we were unused to camping on hard gravel surfaces and bent 5 tent pegs (using a mallet) before my husband thought about using a screwdriver and hard hammer and we could just pitch our tents. It seemed the other campers had the same problem. The toilet blocks were good and clean. The playground was small but OK. This campsite's main draw is its beauty and tranquility. The lakeside setting was very special and the beach was beautiful. There are no places to eat - only a mobile van selling fast food. The camp shop was very very poor - just selling a few local things. However, there is a Carrefour in the next village (car ride). My husband sailed his boat here and we had a great weekend. Expect hard surfaces, quiet and take most of what you need and you'll have a lovely time. The lake is great for swimming and it is a beautiful spot.
This large site is situated in a beauitiful forest and the pitches are mostly shaded. Pitches are gravel hard-standings of a generous size, but some are not that level, so take levelling blocks if using a caravan. Electricity points use proper connectors and not the usual two-pronged continental rubbish. Water taps do not have screw threads, so take a watering can if you want to fill an on-board water tank. Toilet blocks are clean, but nothing special (remember to take soap and toilet paper with you, as none are supplied).
The nearby lake offers excellent safe swimming with life guards and canoes/boats for hire. There are no shops in the nearest village, so all shopping involves a trek. The site is kept clean and tidy and is quiet at night with no rowdiness while we were there. There is plenty to see & do in the locality. We really loved our holiday here and would recommend the site to others.
Visited June 2009, beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed our visit that much visiting in August 2009.
