Camping Le Chanet is a terraced camping site located against a ridge. The camping site is situated in the vicinity of Ornans, in the Jura mountains. The emphasis of the camping site is on environmental awareness (no chlorine in the swimming pool, preventing water wastage). The layout if the camping site is very natural and you will enjoy the lovely view of the mountainous landscape.
Ornans is certainly worth a visit because of its good quality restaurants and a few interesting museums. The area is not very touristy and makes for good cycling and walking.
Natural camping site with lots of greenery
When you arrive at the camping site, you will first see the reception building and the petanque pitches. At the back of the building, you will find the sanitary facilities, supplemented by a massage bench, solarium and fitness room.
To get to your pitch, you have to drive up a slope to one of the side streets. Some pitches are demarcated; the pitches on the upper field are open. The mobile homes and playground equipment are located in the middle of the camping site. The camping site has a natural look, with lots of greenery. The view of the surrounding mountains is a daily source of pleasure. Campers have a choice of different kinds of pitches, all spacious. They vary in view, shade and privacy.
Environmentally-friendly swimming pool
The swimming pool is cleansed in an environmentally friendly manner with plants. They use no chlorine whatsoever. Adjacent to the swimming pool are the snack bar and childcare. In the mornings you can get a delicious packed breakfast from the snack bar. In the camping shop at the reception you will find basic foodstuffs and essentials.

This site is in a lovely position and could justify its 4 star rating with a bit of effort made to repair facilities. The hinge on the door to the ladies showers is broken can't be closed cold draught blows through. taps on washing area need servicing- small things but looks as if care is not taken Staff conspicuous by their absence
Site on a steep hillside with level pitches terraced out. Road from reception up around top of site extremely tight with very difficult turn for large caravan.
Toilet block good quality, plenty of hot water, but not cleaned too well.
Did not see the eco friendly swimming!
Sadly the site does not warrant the CCA- price tag and we would not stay there again.
