Nature plays a leading role in the French region of Hérault, north-west of the city of Béziers. Les Cerisiers du Jaur campsite, a green paradise in the Jaur valley, is situated in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc nature regional park. Dotted in the enchanting environment are a number of characteristic French villages to enhance a visit to this region. This diverse region of the Languedoc-Rousillon is also well suited to be explored by bicycle or on foot.

Spacious campsite

The camping pitches are distributed between the old and the new sections of the campsite. The majority is bordered by green hedges and equipped with electricity and water connections. Sufficient choice for a place in the shade. The old section of the campsite in particular is surrounded by trees, plants and shrubs. Rental accommodation is available in various types and sizes, from modern furnished mobile homes to wooden bungalows with partially covered verandas.

Swimming pool, river, lake or sea

For the swimming enthusiasts, Les Cerisiers du Jaur Campsite is definitely the place to be. On the campsite but also beyond, campers have a choice of various waters. In the centre of the camping grounds is a playful swimming pool, which can be accessed via a wide flight of stairs. Infants and toddlers have their own dedicated section of the pool. The river with private beach is also popular with the guests. The area at the dam is an ideal playground for children. Beyond the campsite are two beautiful lakes: Lake Vesoles and Lake la Raviège. Furthermore, the coast is some 50 km away near Béziers.

Travelling party: Family with children, 12 - 18 years

Liked - Wij vonden het een prettige en ongedwongen sfeer op de camping. Het riviertje vonden we lekker om in af te koelen. Ook het eten bij het restaurant was prima. Service bij de receptie was keurig.
Disliked - Het achterstallige onderhoud op de camping; gras was niet gemaaid en op meerdere campingplekken lag er nog bouwspullen. Het voetbalveld was overwoekerd, er was geen crossfiets baan en het 2e bruggetje naar de rivier was er niet. Ook misten we vuilnisbakken op de camping.

Liked -
Veel te zien in de omgeving.
Disliked - Meerdere hopen hondenpoep op de plek. Paar keer gevraagd of het opgeruimd kon worden.
Wifi met betaalde codes werkte op geen enkel apparaat bij ons. Kregen ons geld retour. Het nieuwe wifi systeem met PayPal hebben we niet uitgeprobeerd.

Liked - Camping met grote kampeerplekken en mooi zwembad, maar bij drukte helaas geen toezicht. Ook geen beveiliging die de ‘s nachts de stilte op de camping handhaaft.
Luxe, nieuw toilet/douches.
Disliked - Veel regels voor het zwembad, maar geen toezicht hierop.
Geen handhaving campingrust na 23.00 uur.

Liked - Mooie grote schaduwrijke plaats. Netjes en ruim sanitair. Prima zwembad, soms wel druk. Altijd bedjes beschikbaar. Omgeving is prachtig. Je moet wel altijd een stuk rijden over bochtige wegen door de heuvels. Prachtig, maar kost tijd om ergens te komen.
Disliked - Het onderhoud op de camping was een beetje verwaarloosd. Gras staat hoog en erg veel onkruid op speelveld.

Liked - Zwembad en bar zijn ok.
Disliked - Slecht onderhouden standplaatsen. Veel chalets in aanbouw. Ligging direct naast dorp aan doorgaande weg.

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - De omgeving is schitterend, veel wandelmogelijkheden, leuke plaatsjes. Privé-waterval aan de rivier voor de campinggasten.
Disliked - Bij de receptie zou men wat meer mee mogen denken. We vroegen om wat eerder te mogen komen omdat de temperatuur in die middag opliep tot zo'n 40 graden. Dat kon niet, want de huisjes moesten nog schoon. Je kunt ook zeggen: gooi de kostbare bagage bij ons in het berghok en plons vast in het water. Zo druk was het in juni nog niet. En door een fout bericht van de receptie waren we alsnog een uur te vroeg, mét boodschappen bij ons in de hete auto. Geen aanbod om die zolang bij hen in de koeling te leggen.

Liked - Mooie pek, privacy, ruimte, zwembad, ligging
Disliked - Horeca gedeelte.
Het eten was goed, maar het ziet er een beetje armoedig en onfris uit, met overal spullen.
Menu moet je met qr code openen, geen kaart, beetje sjofele stoelen en tafels

Vriendelijke ontvangst. Mooie camping in een omgeving waar je kunt wandelen en fietsen. Prachtig en schoon sanitair. Mooie ruime plaatsen. WiFi was voor ACSI klanten gratis, ik vermoed in verband met het voorseizoen. Het internet is van matige kwaliteit, het zou te gek zijn als je hiervoor zou moeten betalen.

Wij hebben hier hoofdzakelijk gefietst over de oude spoorlijn. Je kunt 2 kanten op fietsen. Of je fietst richting Mazamet (ruim 35km) dat gaat wat omhoog met 1 à 2 procent. Fiets je de ander kant op richting Bédarieux dan ga je eerst dalen en moet je terug weer wat stijgen. Het zijn prachtige fietspaden (veel gravel) en erg leuk om over te fietsen.
