Some may call the Limousine region the real France, as it has not been invaded by mass tourism yet. You can still find peace and quiet, yet there is enough to do. Camping Municipal de Montréal is located in this tranquil region, next to a swimming and fishing lake and only a stone's throw away from Nature Park Millevaches en Limousin. The attractive town of Limoges is half an hour's drive away.
Well maintained grounds
The camping site looks well maintained and is kept neat. The pitches are predominantly level, spacious and beautifully laid out and demarcated with straight hedges. Trees provide some shade. Most of the pitches overlook the lake and the surrounding hills. There are a few luxury rental chalets at an affordable price.
Watercycling, fishing and walking
Swimming enthusiasts have a choice: do you jump into the pool or will you swim a lap in the lake adjacent to the camping site? Close to the reception is the well maintained swimming pool with vegetation, loungers and sun umbrellas along one side of the pool. Just outside the entrance gate is the sandy beach with sunbathing lawn along the lake. There are two diving boards here. Also nice: rent a pedalo! Anglers are also welcome, disabled anglers can take a seat on the jetty. There is a playground for children with climbing equipment, a slide and a see-saw, as well as a sports field. There are many walking opportunities in the area. Bicycles can be hired at the camping site.
The camping site restaurant with terrace is open to the public during the summer months and offers simple, but tasty dishes. Take-away meals are also offered. A bread service is also available. There is no camping shop, but it is a short walk to the nearby St.-Germain-les-Belles.

Just a one night stay en route to Spain. Conveniently close to motorway. Beautiful old village but sadly we had no opportunity to walk around it. Most of the camp facilities were closed. Dutch owners on holiday so site manager (English) was overseeing things. Very heavy rain while we we there but the view over an adjacent lake was still beautiful.
Stayed here 2 nights on way to Spain for the last 5 years. Excellent site, nothing to much trouble. Highly recommend
Nice quiet campsite - easy access to a lake for swimming - enjoyed. Restaurant good value.
a very friendly site with some nice views of the lake. Most of the pitches seemed small and on a slope but we used it as a one night travel option. The owners cook in their small restaurant in the evening. Nice but we found it unimaginative very international.
We have used this site on numerous occasions as a stopover when travelling to & from the South as it\'s location is convenient. The owners are extremely friendly and the food in the restaurant is excellent - would stop here just for That!
This is an excellent site, convenient for the motorway, as so is used often as an overnight stay but is worth staying at longer to visit the attractions in the area.
The pitches, separated by hedges and they are partially shaded - very welcome in hot weather. The site is run by a hard working Dutch couple who are very welcoming and knowledgable about the local area. The sanitary facilities are very clean with good hot showers. There is a large fishing lake adjacent with a footpath around it, ideal for some exercise to work off an excellent meal at the camp restaurant which overlooks the lake. There are local walks and cycle routes and we were given a map to follow.
One of us was ill while we were there and the owners were very helpful ringing the local doctors to make an appointment and writing down some French phrases to help us!
An ACSI card gives a discount in the low season.
We arrived at this site end of May in terrible weather as a stop over which it clearly is at this time of the year for many campers. However, it’s worthy of a visit and if the weather had been better we would have stayed longer. It has attractive pitches overlooking a small lake. The food is excellent cooked by the Dutch couple who own the site. Showers set at very comfortable temperature and overall sanitation area good standard. We have marked this as aplacevto stay on our return.
Very good Winter Overnight stop, been twice now en-route South & North and will return again. Close to motorway, access via village best but a bit tight in places but managed. Very helpful cheerful & chilled owners in very cold challenging period of weather when visited. Great for dog walking.
Had a lovely two nights here, there is more to the village than we initially thought (not much but...). Site owners very friendly, though wifi not greatest. Toilet block up the hill didn't always have hot water, but the one on the flat did, and was fine. Would stop off again. Pitches mostly good for camping.
Hideous experience! When we booked in, we were not told there were about 100 screaming and shouting kids staying there at the same time. When they all returned in the late afternoon we discovered that our pitch was completely surrounded by them and the noise, ball playing and lack of privacy completely spoilt our stay at what otherwise seemed a nice site.
