Camping Seasonova Riva Bella is situated along the canal from Ouistreham to Caen. This former municipal camping of substantial proportions is situated in the heart of a protected nature reserve. You will be warmly welcomed by Katja, the manager, to this green and well maintained camping site.
There is ample space for many guests on the beautiful site. Tents and caravans are kept separate from the camper vans. All pitches are more or less the same size. The camping site has new bungalows for rent. They have been placed in such a manner that several families can stay here together. In high season the camping site is frequented by families with children whereas in low season there are many senior citizens.
Wellness facilities and activities
Near the heated swimming pool is a terrace where you can order drinks and snacks. The spa, sauna and jacuzzi are very popular with guests. Children will not get bored in the pirate playgrounds. In the small camping shop you will find the basic necessities. Across the camping site you will find several large supermarkets. In high season several activities are organised for guests.
D-Day and beach excursions
You can exit the camping site via a gate with a code, so that you can go for a walk or cycling along the canal to the renowned Pegasus bridge. This bridge was recaptured by British units in the night of 5/6 June 1944, who herewith created an important link for the invasion units.
The landing area Sword Beach was one of the main landing areas during D-Day. The camping site organises regular excursions to the landing beaches for guests.

Liked - Ideal for normandie beaches and ferry
Disliked - Vagrants outside
Liked - close to canal cycleway. pool, near to shops etc.
Disliked - left 2days early,as we felt intimidated by the immigrants at entrance to site.did not like walking through them. also they were using woods nearby as toilet.....
Liked - Really clean and tidy site. Good facilities. Nice showers. Excellent laundry that uses €coins.
Lots to do near the campsite. Unfortunately it was too hot for the day I was there to get out and explore the area.
Disliked - The migrants outside the gate hanging around the roundabout gives cause for concern when leaving the site to sail back to UK,
Liked - Spacious pitches with easy access to water & electricity. Very convenient for Ferry stopover, less than 10 minutes from the terminal. We have in the passed stayed for 4/5 nights, it's an ideal spot for exploring the region.
Disliked - Nothing.
Liked - quick late evening reception from brittany ferries arrival
Disliked - Proximity of the illegal immigrants camped immediately outside the pitch who chatter non stop all day and night, urinate (and defecate?) in the hedge separating the pitch from the camp outside. This only applies to the camping car pitches
Liked - Very convenient for the ferry port. Clean, tidy and quiet.
Liked - Good for an overnight stop
Liked - Well laid out site and very clean
Liked - Our first stay this year was a one night stop over from the ferry terminal. We arrived on site at 21.40, and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady on reception and we were on our pitch in no time at all. We last visited Riva Bella in 2017. We returned again on the 12th June 2019 for 4 nights before leaving for UK. The cleanliness of facilities is always first class and on the morning of our departure at 06:30 hrs we noted the toilets were being cleaned thoroughly at that early hour. Closeness to Brittany Ferry terminal is also a bonus.
Disliked - Whilst we did not experience and particular problems but beyond the control of Riva Bella is the problem of immigrants camped outside the site this is very intimidating on arrival and if walking past them to go to the town and/or when leaving finally to catch a ferry. This could deter customers from returning to Riva Bella?
Perhaps alternative arrangements should be found for them as they have been there for 2 years I believe.
Liked - I liked the whole facility
Disliked - The Pitch are for small campers. my is 8 meter. So I got to stand diagonally. But it went well.
