Camping Seasonova Riva Bella is situated along the canal from Ouistreham to Caen. This former municipal camping of substantial proportions is situated in the heart of a protected nature reserve. You will be warmly welcomed by Katja, the manager, to this green and well maintained camping site.
There is ample space for many guests on the beautiful site. Tents and caravans are kept separate from the camper vans. All pitches are more or less the same size. The camping site has new bungalows for rent. They have been placed in such a manner that several families can stay here together. In high season the camping site is frequented by families with children whereas in low season there are many senior citizens.
Wellness facilities and activities
Near the heated swimming pool is a terrace where you can order drinks and snacks. The spa, sauna and jacuzzi are very popular with guests. Children will not get bored in the pirate playgrounds. In the small camping shop you will find the basic necessities. Across the camping site you will find several large supermarkets. In high season several activities are organised for guests.
D-Day and beach excursions
You can exit the camping site via a gate with a code, so that you can go for a walk or cycling along the canal to the renowned Pegasus bridge. This bridge was recaptured by British units in the night of 5/6 June 1944, who herewith created an important link for the invasion units.
The landing area Sword Beach was one of the main landing areas during D-Day. The camping site organises regular excursions to the landing beaches for guests.

Liked - Easy pitching - even able to leave the caravan hitched up ready for early getaway next day
Disliked - Groups of illegal immigrants loitering outside the site although they did not cause any bother
Unfortunately the campsite has asylum seekers who congregate at the entrance waiting to get onto any vehicle they they can and we watched them try it countless times. They were quite happy eating, drinking , smoking and playing football till the early hours 20metres away from my pitch. Booked 2 nights but entered late in the day and left early the next morning. Never again. Shame as it is not the campsites fault.
This is a very nicely laid out campsite with nice size pitches except if you are overnighting then you are stuck near the road on tiny pitches - we had to ask permission to use the one behind us as no room for caravan and car on one pitch - the toilets at that end resemble porta loos the road is a busy one so it is noisy. It is very convenient for the early ferry
We used this campsite as a stop over after crossing from Potsmouth to Caen. It is very easy to find and close to the docks. That\'s unfortunately about as far as positive comments go. As we turned in to the campsite there were a number of refugees loitering on the corner. Not the campsites fault but unsettling nonetheless. We checked in with our caravan (time approx 10 pm) and were told we could go on any pitch. This is where problems occurred. All pitches have a kerb of about 3 inches, possibly ok with a motor home but definitely not suitable for a caravan, particularly late at night. We attempted the motor mover but it wouldn\'t take the caravan over the kerb so we had to hitch up again and manoeuvre with difficulty between our kerb and the kerb opposite. Not a great start to our holiday. Also, needing the bathroom we were shocked to find that the gents toilet block had been locked up. Possibly due to the refugees using them but can\'t say for sure. I do not like leaving negative feedback but sadly not very much on the positive side for this site.
Liked - Good reception late at night.
Disliked - Too far from toilet facilities.
Liked - Convenience
Disliked - Area and refugees camped outside entrance
Liked - It was very convenient for the ferry, the showers were very good, the pitch was good.
Disliked - When we arrived, we were given a different pitch which was next to a noisy building site. We complained and were given a much better site straight away.
We stayed here for one night only so we could get the early ferry from Ouistreham and will not be staying again, the pitches have a 3 inch kerb which even with the mover was quite a task to overcome. To get to the nearest power point I had to cross the next pitch which was unoccupied, all around the rear of the pitch were dog droppings (no wonder the pitch was empty). The shower and washing area looked like it had not been cleaned for days added to this a French family taking turns to ride an old motor scooter round the site late at night, all in all a very disappointing stay as the other sites we stayed on were so good.
Newish toilet block, unisex, no toilet roll, no toilet seats, disappointingly dark as lights went off frequently. Showers under pressure on a half empty site, ranged from hot to tepid.
Liked - Very close to the ferry port and lady on reception was lovely
Disliked - Had a football kicked at our brand new caravan from the migrant camp as we entered. Pitch numbers really hard to see in the dark. Has to ask where to get water from as amenities not easily visible. Couldn't see a toilet block nearby. Would possibly stay again bit only for another so over a have done Normandy before
