Unfortunately the outside pool wasn \'t open when we arrived (just before the start of the high season). But that was the only negative thing about this place! The people are super friendly, the food is great, the bungalow was clean and had all the things we needed. Accept for the tv to watch the world cup, but that was a good reason to watch with our fellow campers in the restaurant. We loved our time here. Thank jou!
We arrived at Port'Land on a wet, dreary day out of high season. The staff were helpful and friendly, and, speaking excellent English, offered us a larger pitch at the standard price so that we would have hard standing for our camper van (to avoid the ground being churned up). We were given a fob for the vehicle barrier (10 euro deposit) and told that we could order bread for the next day from the bar.
The pitch was clearly marked, grassy and level, with a hardstanding area for the van. A water and electric point were on the pitch. A lake, complete with ducks, was at the far end of the pitch.
There were 2 sanitary blocks, but one was closed off. The open one was divided into two parts. The first having 8 shower cubicles (many with sinks), 3 WC cubicles, a cubicle for the disabled and a nursery cubicle. The other part contained 2 shower cubicles and 6 WC cubicles.
The WC cubicles were very small and cramped, but paper and soap were provided and the toilets had seats. There were also hooks and bins in the WCs. The showers were very good with adjustable hot water and an adequate pressure.
The block was a little "quirky" with pictures on doors and small mirrors scattered around the walls.
The was a bar and restaurant, but the prices were a little expensive. There was also a Pizzeria which was open during high season.
Next to the bar and restaurant there was an indoor swimming pool.
The interesting village of Port-en-Bessin with its harbour, gift shops and eating places is only a couple of minutes drive away.
