In the countryside of the south-western corner of France, in the town of Lelin-Lapujolle, lies Camping La Solanilla. La Solanilla is a quiet camping site with pitches between green trees, with a hospitable owner and a lovely swimming pool. Advance booking for peak season is advisable.
Amiable holiday atmosphere
The owner, Mrs Sarrato, is a walking encyclopedia of tourist information about sights and activities in the area. There are 86 pitches on her camping site. These are divided in touring pitches, sites for mobile homes, gîtes and paved pitches for motorhomes.
Colours on the camping site
The pitches are located along dirt roads between colourful plants. The camping site radiates a remarkable calmness. The grounds are clearly well-tended while maintaining their natural vegetation. It is nice to see that trees determine the size of the pitches while demarcating them at the same time.
The camping site lies on the Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage route. This explains the mobile homes and gîtes, which provide accommodation to pilgrims. Although the camping site exudes tranquillity, it is also a perfect base for attending the races on the Nogaro racing circuit, located at some 20 km from the camping site.
Swimming and fishing
The swimming pool and the separate toddler pool are both designed in a kind of drop shape. Next to the pool there are a few loungers on which to soak up the sun or to enjoy the shade. The camping site borders on a lake which suitable for angling, but not really for swimming! Adjacent to the swimming pool is a shop with a limited assortment.

Nice site, about half static vans, but lots of pitches for us to pick from. Warm welcome and no rush to leave the following day, as we only stayed one night. would recommend and would definitely use again.
VERY UNHAPPY STAY. BASICALLY A SHANTY TOWN FOR DOWN AND OUTS. MANY PEOPLE LIVING FULL TIME IN FILTHY CARAVANS AND TENTS. DOGS OUTSIDE BARKING ALL NIGHT HENCE NO SLEEP ! POOL SIDE PILES OF WOOD ETC WHERE DECKING IS BROKEN . KITCHEN/ BAR PUBLIC AREA FILTHY. LOTS OF MIGRANT WORKERS LIVING ON SITE. ENTIRE PLACE IN DISREPAIR OWNER FRIENDLY BUT DOES LITTLE EXCEPT TAKE THE MONEY. PEOPLE FRIENDLY ENOUGH AND TOILETS SEEM CLEAN. HAVE BEEN TRAVELLING AROUND FRANCE AND USED MANY ACSI SITES THIS IS BY FAR THE WORSE!HAVE PHOTOS IF ACSI ARE INTERESTED CANT BELIEVE THEY PASS AN INSPECTION.
Delightful, "rustic" site near Aire Sur lAdour north of Pau. Ideal if traveling via the Somport Tunnel or other Pyrenees crossings in that area. Very tucked away with no commerce nearby except the sites own. We visited in winter so no bar/restaurant or pool but both look good for in season. Promised free wifi didn't work for us. Toilet facilities enough for the few visitors in January. Hot showers but no heating. EHU output fluctuated probably due to many perms occupying chalets and gites at the top of the site. Very friendly welcome, speaks very little English but all easy to understand. Perfect for a quiet nights stop for us. Large units might struggle for access (8m+)
This site is described as open 1/1-31/12. When we arrived it all appeared deserted and despite ring large bell and knocking on house door no response. A quick walk around the site gave the clear impression this site was not open for business or in a very poor state of repair. I have not been able to provide a score/review due to not being able to stay over. A bit disappointing given the site is very remote and not easy to access
