Campsite Domaine de la Paille Basse, a country estate campsite in the Castels chain is situated on a forested ridge near Souillac (Lot). The first thing you notice is the beautiful view and the harmony with which the campsite has been integrated into the surrounding nature. The property is very green and well maintained with a number of colourful flower pots. The restored medieval farms now house the reception and a charming restaurant.

Camping or glamping?

Here camping varies from basic to luxurious. The spacious campsites are pretty, primarily flat and well organized. The sanitation is modern. There is a choice of a standard site with or without electricity, a comfort site with a water connection and a premium site with its own refrigerator, picnic table, gas barbecue and two loungers. If you don't have your own equipment, you can rent a Coco Sweet tent or choose the spacious and charming glamping tent.

Water fun and amusement

The campsite has three swimming pools, a large and deep outdoor pool, a heated shallow pool and a heated kiddie pool. There are also four water slides next to each other and a water play area for the little ones. There are play areas, tennis courts, a grass football pitch and jeu-de-boules pitch. The older youth can strut the latest dance moves in the teenager disco (July and August).

To do and see

La Paille Basse is very child-friendly, so in the summer months many families have fun with the children. Other guests are active campers who like to hike in the surrounding area and culture lovers who really love the picturesque villages, castles and churches in the area.

Liked - Le site magnifique et bonne disposition des bungalow
Disliked - La propreté, nettoyage avant notre arrivée à revoir et le wc
Handicapés au parking de
l' accueil insalubre. Je pense qu'il serait préférable de nommer un responsable pour
contrôler le nettoyage.

Liked - La région, la gentillesse du staff et des habitants, la grande piscine
Disliked - Bungalow pas très propre à notre arrivée et vétuste. Matelas défoncé qui a plus que fait son temps. Camping très étendu, difficile de s'y déplacer sans la voiture, piscine non surveillée où les gens entrent avec leurs chaussures, horaires d'ouverture de l'accueil trop limités. Manque une carte un peu plus gastronomique au resto vu la région si riche dans ce domaine.

Liked - Emplacement ombragé, région, animations du soir, soirée barbecue
Disliked - Chalet vieillissant (ne fermait pas à clé et pas de nvles malgré le fait qu on ait prévenu), propreté moyenne, manque de règles a la piscine (bcp apportent leurs grosses bouées gonflable), et manque de transats

Liked - La gentillesse des menbre de l'equipe la paille basse, mais ce fait pas oublier quelques gros dérappage
Disliked - Le logement etait sale et non entretenue, nous savions que le chalet n'etait pas neuf mais le minimum reste que le logement soit propre! mais la quelle surprise, vraiment très sale et des toiles d'arraignés partout ce qui prouve qu'il n'y a pas eu de nettoyage avant notre arrivée. le troisièmes jours les fournis sont entrée par le toit (joint defectueux) pfffffff....

Liked - Cadre époustouflant. Emplacement espacé et bien ombragé. Accueil très agréable. Sanitaires communs très propres. Petit mail de bienvenue avec idées de sorties très apprécié et très utile (région riche en activités)
Disliked - Pas à la hauteur d’un 5* :
- chalet 2000 (C204) vétuste à fuire ??.
- chalet prévu pour 6 mais équipé pour 1 (studette étudiant avec mini frigo, 2 plaques cuisson, et peu d’équipement pour cuisiner ??
- piscine non chauffée, mal entretenue et non surveillée ??
- règlementation non respectée
- tarifs location comme snack prohibitifs (3€ petite portion de frite !)
- Personnel technique incompétent : parties communes = fuite douche permanente signalée à multiples reprises non réparées, un comble en période de restriction d’eau ??
- direction aux abonnés absents.

Liked - Coin aquatique très sympathique même s'il manque un peu d'ombre pour se poser avec les enfants. Piscine très grande où chacun à sa place.
Disliked - Le soir il y a des concerts et des animations. Si vous êtes en tente avec des enfants les emplacements sont proches de ces lieux et peuvent procurer du bruit jusqu'à tard (23h, 23h30). A savoir ??
