"Lovely large camp site on the banks of the Loire and within walking distance from the city centre. The pitches are marked and partly shaded by the vegetation. Walking opportunities in the centre and in the nature."

Good stop-over site or in our case we planned to stay 2 nights but eventually was there for 7. Good sized pitches. Toilets and shower block are modern and kept clean. Great walking for dogs along banks of river. Not much going on in town.
Liked - Perfect stop over
Liked - Reception and Services
Disliked - Undeveloped pitch open on 2 sides
Still our favourite location in France. Been coming here off and on for 20 years. Lovely town. Great for walking and cycling and close to excellent lake with man made beach. Site constantly being upgraded. Pitches in the lanes area in need of serious maintenance. Perhaps campers should be asked to use breathable groundsheets? Security is a serious issue. Breakins and thefts from pitches not uncommon. Brits in particular should be extra vigilant at night and ensure all windows of caravans are locked and valuables are kept out of sight in a secure place.
Swimming pool was closed as it was september but it did look nice, staff were very trusting
Liked - Very nice pool area,
Lovely, fresh bread in the morning (you could get at the camping)
Quiet areas, very peaceful
Disliked - The time you had to push the button in the shower to get water, was every 3 seconds... not so handy when you want to wash your hair
No camping bar or place to sit in the evening. As a young couple, we would have liked that.
La Flèche is a very quiet village, with not that many restaurants and bars. Multiple times the only restaurant open was totally full with reservations...
Liked - Easily accessible to the town and great cycle routes
We have not visited this site for several years. It has been upgraded. The reception staff are friendly, informative and helpful. There is free wifi in some parts of the site. UK TV was also available in some parts of the site. The newer Facilities are excellent and the larger facilities are due to be upgraded this coming winter. The town is an easy five minute walk away. The river borders the site and is very pleasant. The grounds are verdant. Pitches are large, marked and flat. EHU and water are easily available for every pitch. Market is every Wednesday
This is truly one of our favorite stops in France. The position near to town and the view over to the weir and marie are exceptional. There are two supermarkets which we cycle to very easily within a couple of miles mostly on cycle paths. The market is visible across the river and is a real foodie market with great range of locals selling their wares, fruit, veg, goats cheeses particularly good and meats of all sorts. Can\'t fault the facilities and our almost 9 metre motorhome is easily pitched and accomodate for with a great and accessable service area. Love the place! Don\'t have kids, use the pool or sports facilities so gave a vague review of those to complete the review.
If there is a better kept or managed municipal campsite in France then it will have to go a long way to beat Route d\'Or. This is the 2nd time we have stayed on this site and will do time again on our route north or south. We came this time for a couple of nights and stayed 7. The site is well maintained by the town with the toilet block best in France. The walking and cycling routes from the site are brilliant. If, like us, you\'ve dogs then walks for them along the river and lakes is 1st class.
