La Garangeoire castle campsite is a large, friendly campsite close to the Atlantic Ocean. The campsite near St. Julien des Landes has something to offer just about every camper, from horse riding to diving lessons and canoeing to massage. Camp on a spacious camping pitch or in one of the many accommodation units on the expansive site.

A rustic scene

La Garangeoire castle campsite is located at the heart of the French countryside and just 15 kilometres from the Atlantic coast. You can have your feet in the sand or dip your toe in the ocean within twenty minutes (by car), or for fun in the water closer to home, why not check out one of the many lakes that surround the campsite, such as Lac du Jaunay?

As you drive along the long driveway to the campsite, you will see the castle in the distance — through the trees. The grounds contain the castle and its extensive estate of mature forest, grass fields and sandy paths. It's a rustic scene. The site accommodates spacious camping pitches and a variety of accommodation types.

A little charm

The campsite is popular with all manner of holidaymakers, from young families with small children to older children and couples looking to enjoy the countryside. This varied campsite is full of charm and offers something for everyone.

The campsite has a large heated outdoor swimming pool with slides and toddlers' pool plus a heated indoor swimming pool. Diving lessons are arranged in the swimming pools. The campsite also boats a natural swimming pool with sandy beach, plus a lake on the northern edge, which is suitable for fishing and canoeing.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Liked - Children loved the pool and the on site events including the games room horse riding, go karting and football camps. We felt our children were very safe on site which is so important.
Disliked - The water stations idea is very good bit no fizzy water for much of our stay ....and we wanted fizzy water. Also QR code didn't work many times which made it very frustrating for us. One water point didn't work at all which meant queues at main one. Bar service poor and slow. Also felt some bar staff were unfriendly and looked bored.

Liked - Snack, emplacement, activités
Disliked - Bar: manque de formation des saisonniers (début de saison et conjoncture actuelle), prix des glaces non affiché. Manque diversité au niveau des campeurs, pas facile pour les enfants et les adultes de faire connaissance.

Liked - Intimité et espace de l'emplacement, très beau cadre et beaucoup d'activités possibles et tous les services pour nous faciliter les vacances. Camping calme la nuit ! À noter par rapport aux autres campings facilement plus bruyant en cette période.
Disliked - Si possible, plus de châteaux gonflables

Liked - Le calme du camping. Les alentours et l'espace naturel autour du camping (lac, forêt, etc...). Les installations
Disliked - Manque d'activités pour les enfants certains jours, crise du covid oblige. Notre fils de 8 ans (assez réservé) a eu du mal à se faire des copains.

Liked - Les emplacements sont grands et les haies sont généreuses pour ne pas voir chez le voisin. Le lagon est très apprécié des jeunes enfants car ils ont pieds partout. Les ballades en forêt sont agréables. Les sanitaires sont divisés homme/femme. Le domaine piscine est appréciable dommage que l'eau ne soit un peu plus chaude.
L'accès à la mer est à 15 minutes en voiture et très peu de bouchons pour y accéder.
Disliked - Étant entouré d'arbres, le monde des insectes est très présents. Les guêpes sont partout mieux vaut avoir une tapette à porter de main. Mon mari s'est fait piquer le dernier jour, pas de chance. Le domaine est vendu avec 4 etangs de pêche mais seulement 2 sont praticables, et dont un faut jouer à éviter les pedalos et canoës pour pouvoir pêcher. Les animations sont calmes, pas de soirées mousse ou disco.
