La Garangeoire castle campsite is a large, friendly campsite close to the Atlantic Ocean. The campsite near St. Julien des Landes has something to offer just about every camper, from horse riding to diving lessons and canoeing to massage. Camp on a spacious camping pitch or in one of the many accommodation units on the expansive site.

A rustic scene

La Garangeoire castle campsite is located at the heart of the French countryside and just 15 kilometres from the Atlantic coast. You can have your feet in the sand or dip your toe in the ocean within twenty minutes (by car), or for fun in the water closer to home, why not check out one of the many lakes that surround the campsite, such as Lac du Jaunay?

As you drive along the long driveway to the campsite, you will see the castle in the distance — through the trees. The grounds contain the castle and its extensive estate of mature forest, grass fields and sandy paths. It's a rustic scene. The site accommodates spacious camping pitches and a variety of accommodation types.

A little charm

The campsite is popular with all manner of holidaymakers, from young families with small children to older children and couples looking to enjoy the countryside. This varied campsite is full of charm and offers something for everyone.

The campsite has a large heated outdoor swimming pool with slides and toddlers' pool plus a heated indoor swimming pool. Diving lessons are arranged in the swimming pools. The campsite also boats a natural swimming pool with sandy beach, plus a lake on the northern edge, which is suitable for fishing and canoeing.

Disliked - Malheureusement, personnes n’est capable de nous indiquer les emplacements de chaque étang, c’est bien dommage pour les pêcheurs.

Liked - Nous avons aimé le personnel très agréable et de bon conseil sur les visites à effectuer. Le camping est calme et très bien entretenu. Les Mobil home sont ont un espace vert spacieux et bien orienté. De plus, le parc est magnifique et très fleuri.

Liked - Lovely break the resort has everything covered for the kids. Love the cabins and all the facilities
Disliked - No noise after 10PM in the camping area (too early). The bar could do with a better selection. Supermarket could also do with a better selection.

Liked - I liked the surroundings and the vibe and atmosphere on the site.
The site felt safe for kids. Beautiful flowers and trees.
Enough space including sun loungers at the pool that you didn’t have to get there early to get one (but not sure what this would be like in high season).
The staff were very friendly, always smiling and helpful.
Free pedal boats and canoe is very nice.
The grounds were clean.
The bouncy castles were great.
The pitch for soccer tournament is great.
Nice central place and easy to do day excursions.
Chateau is beautiful to look at.

Disliked - The take away was poor quality & it was expensive. The lasagne was frozen in the middle. Coffee is terrible
The restaurant was ok but over priced and choices were limited.
The bouncy castles for the small children could be up more.
bike rental is expensive €35 for 3 days!!!!
The convenient store shouldn’t close during the day this is very annoying.
The lighting around the camp site is very bad after dark. The sensor in ‘Roses’ garden wasn’t working. You needed a torch after you passed the night security cabin as there were few lights making it dangerous.

Liked - De kampeerplekken zijn ruim opgezet en netjes onderhouden. De camping oogt schoon, alles wordt netjes bijgehouden. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en het eten bij de afhaal was goed. Genoeg te doen op de camping. De lagune was zalig ook al hadden wij niet zo mooi weer. Evenals het zwembad was erg leuk.
Disliked - Onze dochter van bijna vier mocht niet mee doen met de kids club. Zelfs niet als een ouder erbij bleef. Dat vond vooral zij erg jammer.
Het sanitair vonden we oud en niet goed genoeg schoon te gehouden. Voor een vijf sterren camping beneden niveau. Wel erg fijn was wc papier en het fontijntje op de wc zelf. Maar een gat in de grond voor de afvoer is smerig.

Would love more market traders to be on the campsite in the evenings. Would love more food options on the campsite.

Liked - Friendly, large pitches, great food fishing, pedal boats fab - wonderful mapped out walks
Disliked - Pool too small - lack of lighting / there was none on grass evening entertainment area so sat in the dark. Shop limited things to buy sweets / stuff for kids. Kids arcade could be vastly improved. More for the teenagers, pool area just for them one evening
