On a hilltop in beautiful Picardy, next to the castle of Bouillancourt, lies camping site Le Clos Cacheleux. This large camping site has many large pitches. Families like staying here as there are ample facilities for children. With its location not too far from the sea (25 km), coast and beach can be reached quickly.
Spaciously laid-out camping grounds
With 70 pitches distributed over no less than 17 ha, the camping site is very spaciously laid out. The slightly sloping camping pitches for tents and caravans, surrounded by greenery, measure up to 275 m2. The view from the terrain over the green valley of the Trie is exceptionally beautiful. The sanitary facilities of the camping site are good.
Inventive rental accommodation units
If you prefer to rent accommodation, varied and inventive options such as teepee tents, eco lodges and exciting tree huts are available. Tall trees surround the mobile homes, which are separated from the tourist section.
Swimming at the neighbours' place
There is no swimming pool on Le Clos Cacheleux, but you are very welcome to enjoy a refreshing dive at the neighbouring Camping Val de Trie. This somewhat lower lying terrain, a few minutes' walk away, belongs to the same owner. There you will also find a trampoline, petting zoo and a fish pond.
Bread rolls in the tent
The 'sister' camping site also has a small shop, bar and restaurant with good, basic meals. Real aficionados can also visit the many restaurants serving fresh fish dishes in the nearby coastal towns. At Clos Cacheleux, ordered rolls and croissants will be delivered to your doorstep in the mornings. The larger supermarkets are located a bit further along.
Detail information about this campsite

Liked - Friendly service and peaceful site Good Facilities
Liked - Spacious private pitches, quiet, good price.
Disliked - Shower could be warmer and toilet block did smell. Perhaps set up for caravaners rather than people in tents. But we would go back again for short stays.
Liked - Size of pitch, friendly welcome, kids loved the bouncy castle/pirate ship
Disliked - Showers took a long time to heat up (if at all), one sanitary block out of commission, so just one block for all of the touring campers was a little ambitious
Disliked - The pool was dirty. There was a lot off sand in the pool and in the jacuzzi.
Liked - Lovely campsite. Come back each year
Located in a clearing in the woods and has its own charm but as other reviews have said it can be rather overgrown and most of the pitches need levelling ramps. Nice welcome in English, choose your own pitch, local wine sold in reception met with our sons' approval - and he's fussy. Order and pay for bread at reception but on our one night stay the van didn't arrive at 9am as promised, refunded without issue. Facilities block is adequate but cold. Make sure you read the directions to find the site, you do leave the main road and head down the country lane for about a mile or so and the approach to the site is up a short steep hill.
Liked - Large pitches and friendly staff
Disliked - There should be soap in the toilets
Liked - The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable of the local area. We were able to select our own pitch which was great.
In general, this is a good campsite in HIGH season and we have used it as a last night stop for several years. However, last year, we used it in late May and September. We also used it this year at the end of June, all 3 stays being in low season. The site was unkempt and the toilet facilities were seriously limited. In addition, only one toilet block was open providing very little hot water. For our last 3 stays we have used our own caravan facilities. Disappointing.
The swimming pool is down a steep track, through a farmyard and across a road to a campsite nearby, not adjacent. Geographically in another village. Realistically you'd need to use the car especially with children. Pitches were large. Very steep and rough surface access from road. Ok for overnight stop.
