A spacious easily accessible site, 1 km south of the town centre by the canal. For shopping, Lidl is a short walk away. The castle in Peronne houses a splendid World War One museum.
Camp Reception has limited opening hours late in the season but bread can be ordered for morning and the cafe/bar is open from 5.30-8.30 pm. The outdoor pool and snack bar are now closed.
Free WiFi works on a couple of pitches near Reception, and in the bar.
Facilities are old but clean and heated, with indoor wash-up sinks, token-operated washing and drying machines and very hot water.
We were pleased to find the site open until the end of October, at a reasonable price with ACSI card.
Very close to town and Museum. Some pitches do not have electric. Low branches on trees makes entry to pitches difficult.
Great campsite. If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere this is the place to go. The owners are really welcoming and helpful. We have been coming here for about 10 years and keep coming back. Peronne is really nice and great for visiting WW1 sites. I would highly recommend this camp site and the owner has plans to improve the facilities on site.
Short stay here, welcoming staff, pitches good size but had to be careful as to which electric box you were put on some only 6amp. Very nice swimming pool, especially for children with different sections. Toilet facilities slightly dated but clean and hot water on demand. Good site for visiting Thieval cemetery.
We were very disappointed with first impressions of the site after receiving a warm welcome at reception. We are in agreement with the review. The site itself was very badly maintained, grass not cut, hedges and trees overgrown. Pitches were uneven due to ruts caused by rain 2 weeks previous - ie no maintenance at all it seems. Overall the site requires an un-announced inspection by ACSI as it is not up to the required standard. We did 2 tours of the site and had the feeling it was not for us and left without staying. After reading the majority of the reviews afterwards, I sure we made the right decision. What a shame as it is well positioned to see the sites of Picardie.
Used as a stop over in May 13. Staff very friendly. Site not busy. Didn't leave the site. Wifi available near the Office and pitches close to the office. Sanitation block reasonable and water hot.
Badly managed site, no ground maintenance, very poor pitches. Rain could not be avoided but site poor compared to all sites visited in France in 15 years. No water in swimming pool. Site office closed when I left on Sunday morning 26 May 2013. No reply at site house and no reply to the message I left on their emergency telephone number. I emailed asking return my card, say how much I owe incl tax and I will send. Rude reply stated they will not return card until receive money, that they were open until 10am (not the normal time of mid day). Caused me a lot of problems on sites during the rest of my holiday as they had kept my ACSI card. I said they were not allowed to do that as I had given other proof of identity and shown ACSI card but they would not let me stay on site without them retaining my card. They now say leaving site is not an emergency but I did not state the nature of the emergency. Frightening to think what might happen if it was a health emergency. Against the law.
Have stayed here before as good stopover site. Good facilities and helpful staff. Noticed a great deal of new fencing which makes site seem very secure. Security man walking around site regularly. Could not understand this as never seen before however after reading recent reviews seems has been trouble on the site with break ins and vandalism. Don't think I will use again just in case.
BE CAREFUL WHEN CAMPING HERE! Our campervan was vandalised (canvas roof was slashed in an attempt to break-in), along with a couple others in the campsite. It turns out that this is not the first time this has happened either after we spoke with the campsite staff and other campers. Nobody saw anything suspicious and there were quite a few campers around. There is another review on this campsite from last year that talks about vandalism/theft, too.
The campsite itself has very good sanitary facilities and they are heated. The washing facilities are indoors but not heated. The campsite staff were very helpful: called the police and let us use the printer/scanner in the office so that we could file our insurance claim. The campsite also has lots of information on the surrounding region (no need to go to the TI). There is also free WiFi near the reception area. No privacy in terms of the pitches though.
Stayed on this site for 2 nights, our pitch was by the canal, working barges and pleasure craft travelling up and down, cement works opposite, no problem. Plenty of trees giving shade. Friendly staff, limited English. Toilet facilities could do with updating, lovely inviting swimming pool unfortunately too cold to go in. Childrens play area adequate, free wifi but in limited area. Site was busy mid afternmoon/evening with overnight campers. Locally there are ALDI and LIDL stores.
