Camping on an island is extra special. The French Île de Ré is located in the Atlantic Ocean and is relatively small, but there is plenty to do. The cosy campsite is located on the edge of the village of La Flotte-en-Ré in an idyllic location 900 meters from the Arnérault beach. It is a relaxing destination on the French west coast for families with children of all ages. You are surrounded by forest, the area is a true cycling paradise, and the large swimming pool at Flower Campsite Le Bel Air guarantees hours of water fun.

Under the trees

The touring pitches are usually next to each other in narrow streets on the well-maintained camping site. They are all easily accessible with a caravan. If you want extra space, you can set up your pitch at one of our comfort pitches. There are plenty of places to escape the sun thanks to the many trees. The three sanitary buildings on the campsite are well maintained. For a glamping experience in style, you sleep in a nice log cabin or in wooden lodges on nicely decorated stilts.

The large swimming pool is located at the entrance of the campsite. It is continuously heated to 25 degrees. There is a separate paddling pool, and around the pool are sunbeds and parasols.

Active holiday

Children can participate in fun activities during the summer holidays. Together with the campsite mascots, Mister Flower and Dino, there is a game or excursion on the programme almost every day. There is a welcome get-together for campers every Sunday evening. There are also gym lessons; you can try out an adventurous climbing lesson at the climbing wall.

Travelling party: Young couple

Liked - Great location, great facilities, there is nothing not to like. Shops close by, we have a dog and walks from site was plentiful.
Disliked - Restaurant was a bit pricy

Great campsite in a really good location and excellent value for money. 10minute walk into La Flotte and around 2.5 miles walk to St Martin-en-Re (we didn’t have bikes so walked down the cycle path).

Staff really friendly and helpful. Site very busy in early September - we phoned ahead the day before to book a pitch and glad we did as they were full whilst we were there.

Pitches good (sandy pitches) but most of the pitches in the shade. There is quite a lack of water taps though.

Nice bar and restaurant with really lovely staff. Pizzas were good. Whilst we were there they had a Paella night - we didn’t try the Paella but it looked amazing!

Pool area great - we’ve been to a lot of sites with obscure shaped pools that are difficult to swim in but this was a nice normal rectangular pool, heated as well which is a bonus!

The only reason I would mark this down is the toilet facilities (no toilet seats. Block 4 nearest to us - toilets really not great and looked totally run down, but Block 1 was a lot better (near the swimming pool). Showers were good in both blocks though.

Travelling party: Seniors

Well-run and delightful Campsite where we stayed during la canicule in June 2022. Fortunately, loads of shade over our pitch and a good-sized pool to cool down in frequently. Great location for visiting the beautiful Île de Ré with its kilometres of safe cycle paths.
