In Loix, the smallest village on the Ile de Ré, island on the west coast of France, you'll find Flower Camping Les Ilates. This lively campsite is located between salt marshes and oyster beds, close to the Atlantic Ocean. Here, campers can take a dip in the large heated swimming pool with paddling pool, where water polo matches are held in high season. The summer months are full of fun anyway, as the entertainment programme is extensive.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
Liked - Hired bikes and really enjoyed not being reliant on the car all week. Short ride into the village on cycle paths or to the beach nearby. Quiet, clean accommodation in a relaxing atmosphere.
Disliked - No

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
Liked - We loved the friendly family atmosphere of the campsite. It felt safe but personable. Due to the current situation it is difficult for the staff to run the activities as normal but every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable.
Disliked - Unfortunately, we were not pitched next to anyone else so we felt a bit out on our own which made it difficult for us to converse with the other holiday makers.

Disliked - There should be a parking outside the camping. And the picture on the website of the accommodations aren't real. It is miss leading. We had a terrible place/ pitch.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
Liked - Well run campsite, kids love the pool and Loix is a great part of the island. Really impressed by the biathlon organised by Lucas.
Disliked - Couldn’t pre-book trailer for bike and they were then all rented out. Other guest’s cats kept coming in the tent which was not an enjoyable experience.

Liked - The relaxed feel and set up for young children
Disliked - The noise at night! We were VERY close to the restaurant/bar area and our children were kept awake till 11ish most nights. We couldn't be moved as it was fully booked!

Liked - Lovely small site. Footbal pitch was great for our children.
Disliked - There was no hand soap or sanitiser in the central WC and shower building - this is not hygienic, especially with COVID. The toilet paper was not always replaced either
