In Loix, the smallest village on the Ile de Ré, island on the west coast of France, you'll find Flower Camping Les Ilates. This lively campsite is located between salt marshes and oyster beds, close to the Atlantic Ocean. Here, campers can take a dip in the large heated swimming pool with paddling pool, where water polo matches are held in high season. The summer months are full of fun anyway, as the entertainment programme is extensive.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
Liked - Superb location great for cycling Loix is charming.
Disliked - We had noisy neighbours and asked to be moved. The reception staff. Oils to move us but told them we had complained. They had been drinking all day. I was verbally abused in the bar and asked to fight! Whilst problem people are not the fault of the staff they must be careful to enforce camp rules and promote the site for families- not Benidorm! We left the site and headed for another site in Normandy. I was not offered a refund and didn’t bother to ask. I did not revisit the reception but handled it myself. Fortunately when they sobered up they stayed away from us but it did not feel relaxed.

Travelling party: Family with children, 12 - 18 years
Liked - Pitch size was good with excellent shade. The clubs run for teenagers and adults also good, this includes volleyball and aqua gym.
Disliked - We are totally disgusted by the attitude by the staff in reception which includes the manager when they were informed of rowdy teenagers shouting and screaming well into the early hours. The youths were challenged on two nights and were escorted from the play park but they continued their nightly ritual, each night. Staff were informed and were either unwilling or unable to challenge this behaviour. The youths ranged from 14 to 18. So not happy. Furthermore, other families complained and left the site around the same time that we did. I will be placing a negative trip advisor update too.

JOH, on this campsite in July 2018
Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
Liked - The site was lovely - chilled place to be, lovely pool, not too busy even in August. The island is fantastic - a wonderful place to cycle with kids as it is so safe.
Disliked - Cleaning the accommodation on the last day - I think a cleaner between guests would be better rather than relying on guests to do it.
