Camping Le Domaine d'Oléron is located on the Île d'Oléron, an island of oyster farms and salt marshes. At this family campsite near the Atlantic Ocean, you can camp on well-kept lawns or in one of the lodge tents or rental accommodation. With entertainment for everyone and a swimming pool with water slides, the whole family can have fun on the campsite. Everything on the island is within cycling distance: the centre of Saint-Georges-d'Oléron and the beach are within 15 minutes.

Well-kept pitches

The touring pitches and rental accommodation on the campsite are more or less evenly distributed. The pitches are situated on well-kept lawns delimited by hedges. Some pitches are shady and sheltered, others are spacious and are situated on a field with a more open character. Many guests on the campsite stay in one of the eco-lodge tents and various mobile homes.

Swimming and sliding

Behind the reception you’ll find the swimming pool. When the weather is nice, all the children gather here to rush down the water slidesl, which end up in a separate pool next to the rectangular outdoor pool, where everyone can have a nice swim. Attached to this pool there is a shielded shallow pool, but there is also a separate paddling pool. Here the little ones can slide down the lighthouse slide and play with the water-spouting whale.

A pizza by the pool

With a drink or a pizza you can take a seat on the outdoor café overlooking the swimming pool. The pizzeria is located near the entrance of the campsite. In the morning you can also get fresh bread here. For more groceries, take your bike or car to go to Saint-Georges-d'Oléron. In the centre of this town there is a large supermarket and also a few restaurants.

Liked - Notwithstanding the unseasonably wet weather we again enjoyed the first three weeks of our stay at Le Domaine d'Oleron. We were given a warm welcome by Melusine, Ben, Wayne and the other staff. Nothing is too much trouble. We witnessed examples of this both in relation to our own requirements and those of others. The persistant wet weather caused problems for a number of us and Ben, in particular, was unstinting in his efforts to resolve and alleviate their effects. His work around the site over the last year landscaping with flowers, plants and other improvements has enhanced the site.

Liked - Mel and the team were extremely helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. Amenity block was one of the best we have experienced. Food in the restaurant was excellent and great value for money. Special mention for Wayne - the English guy on site who does an amazing job of keeping everything clean, neat and tidy.

Liked - The site was beautiful in a lovely area with friendly staff
Disliked - The location of the mobile home was dark and due to storm weather acorns falling over night were very loud and prevented us sleeping - I felt like we were staying in staff quarters and there were plenty of other lovely areas that we could have stayed
The bar was very disappointing with such limited service and when it was open, extortionate pricing and average food
No entertainment available for the entire week and no large screen tv to watch the World Cup. Just a tiny Tv
If you are going to keep your park open then at least have the full amenities available
