Camping in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region means spending your holiday in surroundings filled with lavender fields, vineyards, mountain ridges and historical towns. You can enjoy all this to the fullest when you camp at campsite du Pont d'Avignon. This child-friendly campsite is located on an island in the Rhône river. This campsite is especially popular because it is a municipal campsite in Avignon. From the campsite, you can easily cross the river using the free ferry service or you can walk to the beautiful town centre in 20 minutes.
Camping in comfort
When you drive through the campsite, you can imagine yourself in a lush, green park. There are many trees and the camping pitches are situated on grass. Do you value your privacy during your holiday? Then choose a spacious camping pitch between tall hedges, which also provide plenty of shade. There are also open fields where you can pitch your tent or caravan.
Water fun in the swimming pool
The entire campsite is very green, and this also applies to the swimming pool area. The playfully constructed swimming pool is surrounded by plants, giving you that true holiday feeling when you go for a swim. There is also a paddling pool for the little ones. There are a number of loungers at your disposal.
The restaurant with a terrace is located directly next to the pool, allowing you to keep an eye on the children while they are busy splashing in the water. The children will not be bored in the peak season, with an enthusiastic entertainment team thinking up the most fun activities and games.

Liked - Best value for the money. Easy access to Avignon by the ferry after short walk. Nice amenities: clean pool, bar/restaurant kept good hours, laundry facilities, playground and pétanque court. Safe, clean, comfortable = excellent!
Disliked - The last day of our stay there was a music festival just on the other side of the camp. The music was too loud and disrupted what would would have been an otherwise peaceful Sunday... but that's no fault of the Campsite!
Liked - During our stay(low season) there were no extra events so sorry cannot comment, however...
This site is ideally positioned to visit the beautiful city of Avignon either fully on foot, or, via the free river ferry.and is thoroughly recommended.
Reception were very helpful, and for the lazy of us(and those simply out of prictice) were well versed in English, as were the bar staff and catering crew.
The bar is well stocked, and certainly not over-priced. Me and the missis enjoyed the banter with that staff and various other users of the bar and it's facilities.
In short we loved it...
Disliked - Usual river problems, mosquito's - TAKE DEET
Liked - You can find the pitch you like, settle and then inform the reception about your choise. Very convenient! Swimming pool and the evening concert (flamenco live music) were exellent!

Liked - Great location, nice walks outside the gate. Walk into avignon in 10 mins.
Liked - Being able to walk into Avignon via free ferry or across bridge, very helpful and freindly multilingual reception staff.
Disliked - If you have a motorhome/ caravan the toilet chemical empty area maybe needs updating and checking more regularly.
Wonderfully placed for Avignon; 10 min cycle to free river taxi. pitches good and nice size. not much of view but quiet at night and very secure. pool fantastic and restaurant great food. wash areas ok.
Liked - close to the city, quietness, free public boat service to cross the river, swimming pool
Disliked - toilets somehow outdated and with room for improvement, smelly some moments not 100% clean
Liked - Excellent position and convenient for the town
Disliked - Although we have stayed before we Would like clearer instructions available on the different ways out of the site to the various motoways
We have had a second week here and love it. The staff are helpful, the food in the bar is good and it is so easy to get into Avignon.
