On the large-scale family campsite Domaine le Pommier, situated in the south of the Ardèche, there is plenty to do for each family member. With a gigantic swimming complex (12 slides), several types of sports fields and professional entertainment teams there is enough to keep one busy. The campsite is located on a mountain. This provides you with a lovely view of the rugged, lush environment.

Pitches and accommodation for all

The campsite is large and has a large number of streets. There is a fair amount of vegetation in the form of bushes and trees. You have a beautiful view from virtually everywhere. The large site is home to 220 touring pitches and almost 600 rental accommodation units. The pitches are demarcated here and there and most of them are in the shade. The surface is grass or gravel.

Furthermore, there is a large variation of accommodation units: tents, mobile homes, bungalows and 'Pipo' caravans. Both small and large groups can be accommodated here.

Largest swimming pool complex in the country

Water fanatics do not need to look any further than campsite Le Pommier. The swimming complex of the campsite is the largest in France. Laid out on 1.2 ha are 12 water slides, various heated pools, waterfalls, a jacuzzi, a pirate ship and a variety of play equipment.

The little ones can play in the toddler pool, real water fanatics can head for the pool with underwater jets. The pools are located in the sun but with a large number of sun umbrellas and loungers available you can also enjoy the shade.

Spoilt for choice

The campsite has no fewer then six catering establishments, varying from a large, luxury restaurant (with an array of delicious regional dishes) to a pizza restaurant. The last restaurant has an attractive terrace and a stage. Here you can enjoy a variety of evening performances.

Liked - Schönes Häuschen, alles ordentlich und gepflegt, tolle Aussicht, viel Grün drumherum, ruhig (ausser die Karaoke Veranstaltung jeden Abend...) tolle Rutschen schöner Poolbereich angenehm temperiert

Liked - We stayed in a Cottage Spa which was absolutely stunning, they are situated centrally and very close to the activity center and pool.
My children took part in the gelly call game and the zip lines whilst we were there and both were well organised and great fun, I even did the zip line too which is made up of 6 zips across a small ravine, scary but exhilarating.
The pool area was amazing, so much fun and well life guarded. Children under 12 can not enter the pool without an adult which I think is sensible I'm a pool that large. The night market was nice and foam party also great fun.
Disliked - The site is hilly, if we had a cottage further up the hills I think our experience would have been different. The site is large but the road train is however a very good idea to move people around the site.
We didn't find that many negatives to be honest.

Liked - We had a great time here, our kids loved the activities on site, and the area. It's got a lovely vibe and the pool and other activities were really good. Paid activities were mostly very reasonably priced.
Disliked - The entertainment is LOUD and regularly went over the 11pm cut off. We weren't that close to the stage and it sounded like it was next door. I don't think there would have been any spot on the site that wouldn't have heard the entertainment from one stage or the other, quite loudly.

The food on site isn't great in terms of quality - it shouldn't be that hard to get a pizza or a simple salad right, and yet they weren't great quality, especially for the prices. The one exception was the chicken truck.

Liked - We had a very enjoyable stay. the campsite had many activities for our 10 and 14 year to do. Majority of them were free such as the pumptrack, table tennis, mini golf, football and the amazing water park.
Disliked - would be nice to have more areas where you can sit and have a drink and some of the food could do with improvement.
long wait at check in to be told that accommodation wasn't ready at 4PM. our chalet was not ready until 6:30 and had to come back up to reception to get the keys.

Disliked - Electric point at camping to far away from pitch
Pitch unclean when we arrived
Train too infrequent and often too busy
Play areas were small considering the size of the site, sad that the nets were additional cost

Liked - Water park is brilliant with a wide range of slides and numerous other facilities
Disliked - Safari tent was missing some key bits that were not replaced also could have done with a better clean. Super plot for tent but loads of weeds and needs a tidy.. not quite 5 star
