Camping Le Gallo-Romain is a very well maintained camping site for families and active campers in a beautiful mountain landscape. The Gallo-Romain style to which the camping site owes its name makes this camping site different from others. To camp here you do sometimes have to manage some elevation differences, but you'll get a beautiful view for your efforts.
Lions and flowers
At the entrance, two large stone lions welcome you. The reception building really emanates a gallo-roman style and the entire camping site looks very well cared for. You'll really notice the beautiful flowers. These flowered fields give the campground a little something extra. In the spring there are more than 20 types of orchids to admire.
The sites are beautiful, spacious and open. Upon arrival you can choose a higher or lower site. The lower sites have more shade thanks to the trees. Up top there are many sites that have a beautiful view of the valley and the mountains. In addition to campsites, there are also mobile homes to hire on the camping site.
Water, walking and wellness
The nice swimming pool is in a central location with a number of lounges and parasols around it. You have a perfect view of the pool from the higher terrace. The lower campsites are located on the river.
Dining with a view
There is a little camp shop for the necessities and you can pick up bread at the reception in the morning. To eat, you can sit on the spacious terrace where you can enjoy several dishes. There is a nice menu with well-priced meals.

A very nicely situated site on 2 levels, very peacefully with access to demanding walks and cycle rides - fancy a Tour de France sprint up the Alps! The couple who own the site are helpful and if pushed speak English. Restaurant limited but acceptable. Washing facilities adequate although even in late June a number of cubicles closed off. The only real downside is that internet connection very poor which this day and age is no longer acceptable although we were told upgrade is taking place. The best pitches are on the upper level but many are pre - booked. It has a very nice pool.
Was going to stay for 2 or 3 nights, but ended staying for 10! Shown to choice of pitch by friendly owners after tour of site. Clean facilities and lovely pool. Entertainment organised to encourage you to join in and meet the other campers (mostly Dutch, friendly) Good menu at restaurant. Lots to do in the area - walking, cycling, drives and sight seeing. Do visit very helpful Tourist Information Office. Enjoyed our stay, would return.
Reviews we read before going spoke of Dutch owners who show you around. We never met these. Shown pitch by pleasant French lady with whom I had to try my schoolgirl French.
Nice location. Pitch OK but if you like to get some sun, there is too much shade.
We were the only British visitors all week. The signs are in Dutch and French and apart from all but a couple of other campers from Belgium, the rest are Dutch. They were pleasant and would say hello but tend to stick together on what is basically a site for them.
Some beautiful areas to visit nearby but not enough for a week.
Pool got very full and we used it only a couple of times because of this. The sanitation near the pool area was good but where we were was basic. Felt the site was overpriced.
If you are dutch with children, this may be the perfect site for you but if you are British, I would avoid it.
