Camping Le Château is a beautiful campsite with a peaceful location on the edge of the village of Hauterives in the Drôme. Hauterives is best known for the famous Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval. The campsite is built next to a beautiful 17th century castle. The campsite also has a good restaurant and a large outdoor swimming pool.

Attractive camping fields

This campsite consists for a large part of circular camping fields separated by hedges, trees and bushes. Most of the pitches therefore offer plenty of shade and privacy. The touring pitches are mainly situated at the front part of the campsite. There are also rental accommodations: from hiker's huts with only basic facilities to fully equipped mobile homes. There is also an old Airstream caravan with an unusual interior.

Large outdoor swimming pool

Central to this campsite is a large heated outdoor swimming pool and a large paddling pool. A lovely place to swim laps or cool off on hot days. Moreover, you can let your children do as they please, as there is always a lifeguard present. Swimming is also sometimes possible in the small river that runs alongside the campsite.

Varied entertainment programmes

In the high season, there is plenty of entertainment at the campsite. Sports tournaments, horse and pony rides, themed evenings, shows, games and karaoke nights are just some of the activities on offer. The activities mainly take place in the extremely attractive castle garden.

Eating out at the campsite

Restaurant L'AuthentiK is located in one of the castle's outbuildings. The menu includes pizzas, salads and meat dishes. The terrace in the courtyard is a pleasant place to enjoy your meal.

Liked - Clean and friendly with more then enough place between neughbours.
Disliked - I think there is some work left on bringing some Nice things info the swimmingpool Area (plants, chairs, cosy corners). Is is maybe too clean and without cosyness now.
