The village of Le Grand-Bornand lies in a fairytale setting in the French Alps, at an altitude of no less than 1,000 metres. Just south of this mountain village you will find Camping l'Escale. This campsite is located on spacious grounds at the foot of the famous Col de la Colombière, a renowned mountain pass in the Tour de France.

Views of high mountain peaks

At the beautiful campsite entrance, in the same building, are the restaurant, the swimming pool complex and the children's playroom. Behind the campsite you can see a hill with charming wooden mountain houses. The spacious site is divided into three fields with large pitches on a hard grass or gravel surface. The sanitary facilities are extremely clean and tidy.

Swimming indoors or outdoors?

Whatever the weather, great swimming is always possible at Camping l'Escale. The indoor pool is well heated and connects to the outdoor pool, which is located on a sunny terrace above the reception. The sun loungers around it invite you to enjoy a book, the view or just the peace and quiet.

Eating in a lovely atmosphere

Anyone entering the rustic restaurant 'La Ferme du Pépé' will feel instantly welcome. Campers can indulge in delicious specialties here. The village of Les Clusaz further down the road also offers good food. Or you could make your own summer meal at the campsite's barbecue and picnic area. Fresh bread rolls are available at the reception for breakfast. And don't forget to taste the local cheeses.

Liked - We hebben een week geskied in de voorjaarsvakantie. Op de piste was voldoende sneeuw. De laatste twee dagen was ook de camping wit.
Disliked - Dat we weer naar huis moesten

Liked - We kwamen 2 dagen later ivm weersomstandigheden. Dit hebben we gemeld maar moesten toch betalen. Deden moeilijk over ACSI kaart. Zwembad heel erg koud
Disliked - Koud zwembad. In de avond en nacht geen verlichting op camping. Geen gescheiden toiletten voor mannen/vrouwen.

Liked - De omgeving fantastisch, accommodatie oké maar zou voor 6 personen moeten zijn met 2 kleine inductie pitten ? Maar uitzicht en ligging mooi maar kamertjes echt klein, badkamer oké, overdekt terras goed
Disliked - Bij receptie aangegeven dat er een prioriteit brief op komst is waarop ik zit te wachten....zou uiterlijk na 3 dagen er moeten zijn...krijg hem echter OPENGEMAAKT pas na 8 dagen. Het betrof nagezonden extra medicatie waarom ik gevraagd had, maar bij vertrek niet voorhanden was....had het toen al zelf opgelost door Nasr huisarts te gaan waar het zo was opgelost.... Maar buiten de extra kosten, totaal geen medewerking receptie en ze spreken geen woord NO, let daar op

Liked - Prachtige vakantie met drie kids onder 10 jaar. Mooie omgeving , vriendelijke mensen en op families gericht
Disliked - Te weinig ligstoelen en eat parasols bij het zwembad zouden fijn zijn

Liked - De ligging is ideaal, je loopt zo het dorp in. 's Avonds is daar vaak wat te doen. De camping is een mooie uitvalsbasis om de prachtige omgeving te verkennen. Personeel bij de receptie is erg vriendelijk. Helaas konden we niet lang op onze plek staan, anders waren we een paar dagen langer gebleven. Zeker een plek om terug te komen.
Disliked - Het sanitair onder het zwembad is vrij chaotisch omdat je door de speelhal moet en omdat dit ook gebruikt wordt voor het zwembad. Tandenpoetsen in dezelfde ruimte als waar de toiletten zijn is ook niet ideaal.... Ook zouden de wanden van de douche een schoonmaakbeurt kunnen krijgen en niet alleen de vloeren (zit oranje aanslag op) Het zwembad is klein en in het overdekte bad zit te veel chloor (zere ogen en keel)

Liked - We genoten van fraai liggende camping met behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Heel veel zaken konden lopend afleggen. Rustige avonden en nachten.
Disliked - Het zwembad was te klein en te ondiep.
