The quiet family camping site La Forêt, as the name suggests, is located near a beautiful forest. The well maintained camping site is close to one of the most beautiful loops in the Seine near Jumièges, a historic village on the beautiful river. In the vicinity you will find a vast nature area with lots of forests, villages and towns, through which the Seine winds her way.
Camping with shade and privacy
You will see at a glance that the grounds are well-tended. The spacious pitches, varying in size (100 to 200 m2) but always spacious enough, are located along streets. Depending on your wishes you can choose between a pitch with or without facilities (as electricity and water). The pitches are demarcated with high beech hedges, a guarantee for privacy. You can also rent a tent, a mobile home or trekker hut at Camping de la Forêt.
All amenities for a perfect holiday!
There is a small, covered swimming pool (60 m2) with sliding roof and a lovely toddler pool with a few slides and a small rock (30 m2). The water in both pools is nicely heated. There is playground for children, but no entertainment programme. You can play table tennis on the camping site and make use of the pétanque court. You can play tennis for a fee.
The camping site shop has a limited assortment, but you can buy the most essential groceries. The baker delivers daily fresh bread on order. In peak season you can also get take-away meals, such as pizzas, French fries and snacks. There is a large supermarket at some four km from the camping site.

Stopped here heading south for a night - large pitch, good showers and wcs, very helpful reception and nice bread in the morning, delivered to site. End of season, outside school holidays, so nice and quiet but hedges between pitches provide seclusion with a mix of tents, caravans and Motorhomes this time of year.
Ferry across the Seine just through the village okay for short overhang motorhomes with good clearance.....and free saving a long diversion upstream to bridge.
Not perfect but close. Stayed slightly longer than planned... Helpful owners who make every effort to maintain a peaceful site. Facilities ok, good, useful bar and snack facilities. Wifi weak. Plan to use it again next year.
I have been camping to France for 4 years and visited well over 20 sites some have some experience of French sites.
This site is in a very picturesque location and in walking distance of the town. The locale town has a Abbey which has great English/French history and the guide is in English. If you are traveling by Sat Nav do not use the Ferry as the Vehicle limit is 3T.
This site is good but the owners are rude and disrespectful. The man was shouting at my little boy for leaving his flipflops on in the pool which he did not realize. But the Man kept shouting and going on till my boy was in tears. The pool is dirty and weed-bird pool over the floor where you have to walk bare foot. We tried to leave early at 7:30. We arrived at the gate a 7:25 to again be abused by the owner for being too early. He was warned the night before but just grunts at you.
I would not recommend this site due to the owners. However if this changes then its a great site for the location.
If this was an English owner I would have gladly had a argument with this owner for his treatment to by children. Be warned not a nice reception, check out some of the comments on trip advice who say the same
Also the showers are rubbish, cold and only a drizzle so not worth using.
On arrival we had a friendly welcome as the gate was opened for us during lunch break. We were allocated a large pitch which most of them seem to be, with a water point, some offering more shade than others.
There are 2 toilet blocks one more modern than the other, showers were hot, washing up and laundry sinks are limited but washing machines are available.
Wi fi is available for a charge but didn’t find it very fast.
A small playground, outdoor gym, boules pitches
and swimming pool are good.
A free car/passenger ferry is available from the village across the River Seine.
Largest town with Centre Commercial is Barenton although ALDI and Lidl are quite close by.
A nice site next to the Forest but a lot of coming and going, probably because of the le Havre/Calais traffic and it being used for an overnight stop.
Used by the Caravan Club.
We arrived at this site right in the middle of the owners\' lunch break and during the time when the reception was closed. Despite this, Madame immediately unlocked reception and came out to greet us warmly. She invited us to choose our own pitch and return at our convenience to let her know which one we\'d chosen. We found the site to be very well maintained with level pitches, ample shade and tidy beech hedges separating each pitch. The setting was idyllic; on the edge of the forest and the only sound in the evening was gentle birdsong. A gentle stroll down the hill into the village of Jumiéges proved very fruitful, with a Tourist Information Office, small shops and bars, a very expensive looking restaurant and the magnificent abbey. The trip back up the hill wasn\'t too arduous. The site\'s toilet/shower/washing-up facilities were outstanding; modern and clean with as much hot water as you could want. The site\'s swimming pools weren\'t open when we visited (mid-April) but that didn\'t bother us. There\'s a very pleasant and inviting looking enclosed children\'s play area. We resisted. The site owners proved to be extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend this site highly and will have no hesitation in returning if we visit this are in the future.
A pleasant site with very friendly owners who give you a warm welcome. Pitches may be on the small size but at least you have a choice. Mover may be required if you want to place your caravan in a secluded pitch. Good take-away. First five days were idyllic - peaceful and plenty of bird song. However on Saturday there was an invasion of noisy French families who continued shouting to each other until 2 am. This behaviour continued the next day with no respect for others on this site. May I suggest avoiding weekends especially French holidays or perhaps the owners should be stricter with ensuring a few irresponsible people don\'t spoil it for others. Perhaps we were just unlucky as all in all it is a lovely area.
Disappointing toilet facilities in early season (late April) let this site down badly. The better block was closed. The surrounding area is beautiful, especially in apple blossom time. The swimming pool is superb.
