Stayed several times first time at peak time. Lovely site very close to sea pebble beach. We cycle need to go up hills to get anywhere. Doesn’t feel crowded here although nearly full ideal if you require late entry from ferry. Normally tranquil but occasional late disco
Great camp site for fishing three lakes. With a fifteen min walk into the town the beach is very stoney and not much to do.
We used the site for an overnighter before catching the ferry home - site quiet when we were there (mid May) but with the bar and pool open I can imagine it not being particularly so in peak season. Pitches very spacious and facilities block spotless. Loved the goats, ponies and donkeys!
travelling by motorcycle and spent 3 nights here. fantastic site. great little restaurant. staff friendly and helpful. facilities were excellent. toilets and showers clean and spotless.
When we arrived with a motorhome the pitches were very boggy. We asked to be moved and were to a hard standing near the road. On a week-end the bar area is noisy. The shower/toilet facilities are the worst I have ever been in. "Dated" or "old fashioned" are not the terms for these facilities they are dreadful. In fact the first night we were there I wouldn't go in them.
Loved this site, stayed a week, staff lovely, surroundings beautiful, grounds kept very well, we will be back.
Having stayed here in 2014 we found the site very comfortable and returned in 2015 for five night's. We were on a pitch on the far side of the lake, well away from the bar area. As weekend arrived the site filled with regular seasonal owners and the atmosphere changed from being peaceful to very noisy. On Friday night the bar area was loud and noisy until 1.30 a.m. On the Saturday the seasonal owners nearby were extremely loud and noisy and kept us awake until after 2.00 a.m. On the Sunday morning I informed reception of the noise problems and although apologetic they offered no solution. With that I cut short my stay and left the site earlier than planned. It is obvious that this site does not adhere to the mandatory noise regulations as one would expect.
