I would love to give this campsite a great review. It’s on a lovely beach and although the pitches aren’t huge they are level and a lot are very near the beach.
However, we arrived in mid June, and have been told the ACSI discount rate does NOT apply and finished on 10th June. The campsite use ACSI for advertising. It does not honour the terms. There are other ACSI sites within 2km of this site, suggest you use the others.
ACSI have been informed.
A spacious seasonal campsite under trees, right by the long sandy beach. Popular bay for windsurfing, with a Water Sports Centre just along the lane. Two small restaurants on the same lane.
There are 5 campsites around the small fishing port/holiday village of Finikounda but Anemomilos (meaning Windmill) is the nearest, a 10-minute walk or short cycle ride from the centre. Plenty of cafe/bars and eating places in the village, as well as a couple of small supermarkets and a pharmacy.
The campsite facilities are dated but clean, and there are coin-operated washing machines.
Free WiFi works only at the Reception, with little provision for sitting there to use it.
Very popular in summer, quiet in the shoulder season. ACSI discount price applies outside July/August.
Lovely campsite next to beach with golden sand. Most of the pitches have excelent shade. A small but beautifull town is a 5 min walk away, great options for dinner and snacks near by. Fascilities could be updated, I would really appreciate toilet paper being available in toilets. WiFi costs money per day - this is the first time I had to pay for wifi in camp.
I have been going to this camp-site since 1982! We spend every summer there, a month or six weeks. We've seen the place grow from a very modest, though very special, hidden place off the beaten track. Yes, Anemomilos gets so packed in August... but there is always a super corner to find. It's very quiet in the evenings. The delightful village is within easy walking distance and you can find all the entertainment you want! My grandsons are the third generation to refuse to spend their summer elsewhere. We have a wonderful extended family of friends there... all nationalities. Super.
At end of August the site was very busy. The pitches were small & we were packed in like sardines. No chance if a pitch on the lower beach area as full with campers who looked like they'd been there all summer. No hot water in women's showers in the evening & block swimming in water & grubby. Would only recommend this site for off season stay- we left after 1 evening for more conducive surroundings.
