Camp sites in Lazio, the region around Rome

Anyone camping in Lazio cannot miss it; you have to see the Eternal City of Rome. But the sunny area around this cultural centre of the old world will be sheer pleasure to those in love with Italy.

Camping close to Rome: too much beauty for just one holiday!

There are not enough hours in the day when you are camping close to Rome. With its almost inexhaustible list of monuments and sights the city is really one big open-air museum making a holiday on a camp site near Rome a feast for every culture enthusiast. But despite the ‘official’ art and culture Rome is also a regular lively city with delightful alleyways, squares and outdoor cafes where you can do some wonderful shopping or simply go sightseeing.

The local surroundings certainly do not take second place to the city: the province of Lazio, between the Apennines and the Tyrrhenian Sea is a region with lakes formed from craters, mountains, ravines and hot springs. A camp site in Lazio is a good starting point for viewing nearby Rome or for relaxed camping by the lakes at Bracciano, Bolsena or Albano. It’s quite clear: from a camp site in Lazio you can go in all directions!

Marja De Bakker

In de omgeving is weinig te doen. Naar Rome is een hele expeditie.

Luc Ceulemans
