Camping Waterhout is situated on the southern shore of the Weerwater, a man-made lake located in the central city district of Almere Stad. This camping site is not only situated on a lake but is also surrounded by a forest. You can camp on the beautifully landscaped grounds with your own camping equipment or you can make use of one of the many available rental accommodations. There is plenty of entertainment on the camping site itself and the possibilities for going on trips in the surrounding area are endless.
Camping with plenty of choice
This medium-sized camping site has 160 touring pitches, 40 permanent annual pitches, 15 pitches for motor homes and 11 rental accommodations. There are standard pitches (without electricity and parking space) as well as luxury pitches available. The so-called panorama pitches are pitches with views of the lake. The pitches are spacious and are separated by hedges, offering sufficient privacy.
A versatile lake and entertainment
Although the campsite does not have a swimming pool, there is plenty of water fun to be had here. The Weerwater is a source of all sorts of fun. What can you do here? You can go swimming, water skiing, surfing, canoeing, fishing, or just get your feet wet.
At Camping Waterhout, you will find a playground for the little ones as well as a small vegetable garden and a petting zoo. Here, children learn all about vegetables and animals and how to care for them. Guests looking for a little more action can indulge on the large trampoline or football field. An entertainment team is available in the peak season.
Brasserie with terrace
In the brasserie with terrace you can have breakfast, lunch, drinks or dinner. The sunny terrace outside is ideal for enjoying a drink and soaking up the relaxing atmosphere.

Stayed to nights difficult to access due to monster roadworks taking place on motorway which run to wait for or 2022!!
I believe the site is in limbo because there plight is perilous rumors of the sight being turned into a housing development.
I think because of this they are not putting any development into there site
Stayed early May, a handy little site with friendly staff 23 km from Amsterdam. Almere is a great shopping area and has a large lake for water sports. Wifi at reception is a bit poor. Enjoyed our stay - would recommend.
We camped here in our motorhome for 11 days. Although the weather was very windy, cold and wet, we had an enjoyable stay. The facilities were excellent. The new shower area was a pleasure to use. The campsite owner was extremely helpful, friendly and very knowledgable regarding places to visit and how to get about on the buses, trains etc. If you like cycling this is paradise as you can get to anywhere on a cycle path. We particularly enjoyed cycling to the Oostvaarders Plassen wetland centre, where you view the birds.
We had a meal at the campsite restaurant on our last night which I have to say was delicious. There were still places we didn't get to explore so we shall be back in the future. Thank you for a good holiday.
