Stayed to nights difficult to access due to monster roadworks taking place on motorway which run to wait for or 2022!!
I believe the site is in limbo because there plight is perilous rumors of the sight being turned into a housing development.
I think because of this they are not putting any development into there site
Stayed early May, a handy little site with friendly staff 23 km from Amsterdam. Almere is a great shopping area and has a large lake for water sports. Wifi at reception is a bit poor. Enjoyed our stay - would recommend.
We camped here in our motorhome for 11 days. Although the weather was very windy, cold and wet, we had an enjoyable stay. The facilities were excellent. The new shower area was a pleasure to use. The campsite owner was extremely helpful, friendly and very knowledgable regarding places to visit and how to get about on the buses, trains etc. If you like cycling this is paradise as you can get to anywhere on a cycle path. We particularly enjoyed cycling to the Oostvaarders Plassen wetland centre, where you view the birds.
We had a meal at the campsite restaurant on our last night which I have to say was delicious. There were still places we didn't get to explore so we shall be back in the future. Thank you for a good holiday.
We spent one night here before returning our rental camper van back to its depot in Almere. Some of the facilities were undergoing renovations at the time but once complete I'm sure they'll be excellent. The owners gave us free WiFi. The location is a little out of the way but there's a major bus station outside the campsite and the bus system isn't hard to figure out.
We have just returned from 10 days at Waterhout. Relaxing, clean, good size pitch.
The site is adjacent to a lake that reaches across to Almere. Buses are available just 2 minutes walk from the site, and go to Almere and Amsterdam. This holiday was everything we wanted and more. The staff at the site were wonderful and they keep the site very neat and tidy. We would recommend this site to anyone. Travel tip from UK ignore signs at Antwerp and take Ring 1 around the town.
Lovely campsite , good layout, with friendly and helpful owners, clean sanitary facilities, cars can be parked on your pitch (unusual in Netherlands) we've now stayed three times over the past few years both in summer and spring. Nicely placed to visit various places
