Gaasper Camping Amsterdam is a camping site with spacious and well maintained camping pitches, situated in a park-like area on the outskirts of Amsterdam. The sanitary facilities are neatly and practically laid out and there are special sites for camper vans. You will meet campers from all over the world and of all ages here. A visit to Amsterdam goes without saying. The public transport connection to the city centre is good.
Well maintained, park-like grounds
The camping site looks well maintained. The roads are paved and cars are parked along the edges of the fields. Most camping fields are located against an edge with park-like vegetation, so that you are surrounded by green from all sides. The camping pitches are spacious. A section of the camping site is intended for camper vans and caravans. The sanitary facilities are clean and practical.
There is no swimming pool on the campsite. If you want a swim, you can go the Gaasperplas, adjacent to the camping site. The lake has an attractive city beach with a swimming area and a water play park. You can surf on the lake. Diving is also allowed here. The Gaasperpark, which extends between the camping site and the Gaasperplas, was once part of the Floriade exhibition.
The camping site has a supermarket and a café/restaurant with quite an extensive selection. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the quality of the food is good. Near the restaurant is a lovely terrace. You will find a well-stocked supermarket across from the restaurant.

I should have realized that Gassper Camping was a mistake when I saw the 3 meter high steel gates and the car in the parking lot with no wheels and all the windows smashed.
And then they refused to open the gate but a car behind me opened it and I drove in om my new BMW motorcycle laden with camping equipment, They ran out to stop me as if I was going to do something other than camping.
I paid for a tent site for four days and set up my tent in close proximity to a bunch of other tents.
Two days later I received a message from a relative in Nederland asking me to stay there. When I left a day early the campsite refused to return my money for the extra day siting that I had reserved a place. Well, nowhere on their website does it state that they can keep my money if I leave early!!
I was flabbergasted. They in effect stole money from me without any just cause. In my opinion I call that outright thievery! I was totally stunned. If I had any sense I wouldn’t have left until they paid me.
AVOID THIS CAMPSITE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
Luckily there are other places that respect camping.
Good luck if you are already there…
Was here on a weekend and was not impressed at this site. It is understandable that the weekends are busy and it's a convenient location to reach Amsterdam, however the service and noise level was bad in our opinion. The queuing and waiting at the entrance barrier(checking in and out) was very long. We found that the reception process is not very efficient. Lots of waiting around for barriers to open and is a mission to get service from the unfriendly staff. Not impressed with the nickel and diming for everything, showers, hot water for washing up, electric...everything is an extra cost.
We were on a non-electric motor home pitch which was right next to the tents, it was quite noisy (music is allowed until 23:00 according to the site rules). Then we experienced loud music from first thing in the morning. Some tent campers would be speaking loudly right on our pitch which was disruptive. I think the motorhome/caravans should be separate from the tent areas.
Bathrooms are a nightmare as they are very crowded and the cleaning staff is in there at the same time. The facilities are clean, but I don't think enough facilities are available for the amount of campers, therefore causing major congestion.
Was not a relaxing site, and was definitely not for us.
Couple with a kid and dog come with a mobile home just for a one night stop .Our car stays side bt side to other cars. The noise from a nearby rave party was not good at all. We apreciate the fast welcome service and the reception eficiency. The camping stays at 11km from the center. Toilets are ok but you need to buy coins in order to have hot or cold for the shower. Wifi works very fine.
Stayed during high season. Then extra cost for showers? However fantastic location for convenient Metro into centre of Amsterdam. Excellent park surrounding the site for walking. Good place but don't go during high season.
Flat grass pitches without boundaries. Pristine grass so groundsheets discouraged. Toilets and showers clean, tokens needed for showers, need to ask to get free tokens if ACSI members.
Friendly reception with sound advice on Amsterdam options for tourists. Free WiFi that worked. Short walk to impressive metro and 15 minutes to centre.
Out of season for taking ACSI cars on our visit so expensive, hey ho. Otherwise a bet good site on outskirts of Amsterdam. Surrounded by an excellent park for walking and cycle rides. Literally 5 minutes walk from Metro station for quick and easy trips into Amsterdam. Will use again.
Very convenient site Metro close for Amsterdam, bout 25 mins €5 each, had flat battery but young guy in shop had jump leads and helped recruit a guy to jump my car, great service
The location of this campsite could not get better! Only a 5 minute walk to the metro which takes you straight to Central Station (you do not even have to switch trains)! We stayed for a couple of nights in a motorhome and the pitches were nice. The grounds are very nicely maintained, as well, and it seemed the bathrooms were always being cleaned! You can buy museum passes and train tickets right at reception for convenience as well. Would definitely recommend others to stay here.
lovely stop for our trip into Amsterdam on the Metro that is nearby . pitches are beautiful and well maintained . value for money. nice shop on site.
This is an excellent campsite in a very pleasant area. It really is within easy walking distance of the metro, and perfect for visiting central Amsterdam. Staff were thoroughly pleasant, professional and helpful. Great laundry facilities and showers, and a pleasant restaurant. The site shop was very limited, but it was the very end of the season, so that's perhaps why. There's a good supermarket one metro stop away.
