Campismo Serro da Bica provides a good holiday location for hikers, bird-watchers and nature lovers in Alentejo, Portugal. The campsite is close to the city of Ourique (11 km), known for its local delicacy ‘Black Pork’. It is a campsite that embraces simplicity, with various pitches among the hills. Trees provide the necessary shade but, to really cool off, go to the nearby Rio Mira river.

Back to the basics

At this campsite, you really go ‘back to the basics’ with your own camping equipment. The pitches are distributed over a hilly area, giving you a choice between a spot in the sun or under the shade of a tree. The pitches are simple but neat and have the necessary connections.

Although the campsite focuses on a rustic experience, it does not lack the most essential amenities. The sanitary facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the pathways are paved.

Connection with nature

On the other side of the hill is the Rio Mira, a river that winds through the green landscape and flows into the Santa Clara reservoir some 20 kilometres further. Cast your line out into this river or lay your towel on its banks or go for a swim.

Alentejo is known for its beautiful natural environment: from glowing hills to thick wooded areas and from vast plains to swamps. It is a true paradise for many species of birds. Around the campsite you will spot bee-eaters, blue magpies, long-legged buzzards, storks, flamingos and vultures.

Camping midden in de natuur, dag en nacht rustig. Grote plekken, keurige camperplekken. Heel vriendelijke, gastvrije eigenaren die dag en nacht klaarstaan voor hun gasten. Mooi, zeer schoon sanitair met verwarmde doucheruimte. Iedere werkdag rond 5 uur een gezellige “happy hour”. Geen verplichting, wel leuk om je medekampeerders een beetje te leren kennen. Omgeving nodigt uit om uren te wandelen of fietsen in een prachtige omgeving. We wilden een weekje blijven, het werd een maand.

Miranda en Menno (een Nederlands echtpaar) geven de camping echt een eigen sfeer. Ze zijn beiden attent en erg behulpzaam. We kregen een geweldige plek boven op de berg met een fantastisch uitzicht. Alle staanplaatsen hebben echt ruimte en mooie vergezichten. De camping heeft veel aandacht voor het milieu. Ruime douches met echt warm water. Schoon sanitair. Er zijn volop wandelroutes en fietsroutes door de schitterende omgeving. Op de camping is veel aandacht voor het sociale aspect. Maar niets moet! De pizzamiddag is een topper. Echt een aanrader om de camping te bezoeken.

Het is een gezellige camping met mooie grote plaatsen, De plekken zijn mooi verdeeld over het terrein waardoor je contact blijft houden met de natuur. De eigenaren zijn bijzonder klantvriendelijk. In overleg is veel mogelijk. WIFI en sanitair zijn beide fantastisch.

vriendelijke ontvangst met rondleiding en uitleg bij sanitair.
mochten niet zelf plek uitkiezen , kregen er 1 op terras voor sanitair, daarvan geen overlast gehad.
plaats met schaduw was er niet echt, uitleg van de eigenaar was ,dat overwinteraars alleen maar zon willen.
trek daaruit de conclusie dat deze camping vooral voor de overwinteraars is.
elke middag een happy hour om 5 , waardoor je je medekampeerders goed kan leren kennen, drankje voor schappelijk prijs.
in de ochtend brood , wel de avond ervoor bestellen
in de kantine volop documentatie voor een dagtocht of een wandeling.
rivier ligt 10 minuten lopen van camping is daar af gedamd, waardoor er nog wat (zwemwater) blijft staan.
wij hebben er twee nachten gestaan en hebben vanaf onze plek veel nachtelijk lawaai van de weg gehad, door de vallei weerkaatst het tegen enkele delen van de camping.
de hele nacht rijden vrachtauto’s heuvel opwaarts.
gevraagd aan mensen die ergens anders een plek hadden, die ervaarden geen overlast.
dus opletten waar je gaat staan

Je voelt je er thuis en in de natuur, met veel zon en voldoende schaduw. Prima wifi

Hartelijk dank voor uw feedback. Het is natuurlijk wel een kleine camping, met voor de kinderen minder vertier. Overigens de kinderen die hier wel komen vermaken zich prima. Graag willen wij weten wat wij op het gebied van de sportfaciliteiten nog kunnen verbeteren.
Op gebied van sport hebben wij, fietsen, zwemmen, vissen, jue de boules, kubb, sjoelen, kaarten, diverse bordspellen, wandelen, fitnesshoek, etc.
