Very large site in pine woods with long access road from reception. Pitches are not demarcated. Access to beach via timed electronic gate. 6 amp electricity.
This is the worst campsite we have ever visited. The entrance looks lovely and the staff were helpful then you drive through the forest area to new static mobile homes then into the area which can only be described by various people we spoke to as 'tent city'. It was a disgrace with nearly all the pitches covered with grey tarpaulins. On closer inspection they looked abandoned and filthy with mould and looked like they had been vandalised. When we were there in June 2015 the middle section of toilets were out of order and this is where the chemical toilet disposal was, as there is none at the far end of the site, where they placed us at the rear gate. I agree with other comments, that there is a fire hazard due to the fact that the gate was locked at the beach end of the site and people were locked out after taking a walk. On the matter of the beach it states it is 600 metres away. This is an underestimation and to gain access you had to scramble down the dunes which are steep. The area where we were told to park was at the far end of the site and a 15 minute walk to the pool. On arrival we were asked to pay in advance and due to our dissatisfaction we decided to leave early but they refused to refund any money. The plots allocated to tourers is beside the rear access gate and the plots are uneven and you have to drive through deeply rutted tracks which cause problems if you have a large overhang. DONT GO THERE.
The campsite is just outside the village and about a 600 m walk to the beach through the site gate. The gate is only opened at certain times, so you need to time your walk. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient. The drive into the site is through a forest area, then you arrive at an area that is wholly used for permanents, further up the track you come to the area for motorhomes which is right next to the facilities. Good shower blocks, spotless with hot adjustable showers. I would imagine in the summer this is a busy site, but out of season it caters well for the passing tourist with the restaurant and bar open for set hours.
Preço muito elevado, Casas de banho com necessidade de obras e muito pouca limpeza. Valeu a simpatia dos funcionários, o sossego e a piscina!
This site was a disgrace and more like a 'shanty town,' with 100's of permanent vans, some having been vandalised or broken into. Barbed wire fencing everywhere and the gate leading to the beach was only opened every 2 hours for 10 minutes, should you miss this time on your return you walked around the outside of the site to the front entrance, 30 minutes at least. Toilets/showers, other than a small new block, (if you were lucky to be near) were out dated in 1970 let alone 2013. In the 10 weeks we were touring this was most certainly the worst.
