Camping Valdevaqueros Cat.2, on the southern Spanish Costa de la Luz, lies in a stunning location: within walking distance from the Valdevaqueros beach. This is one of the most popular spots for kite and wind surfers. The eastern side of the camping site features a mountainous landscape, defined by the largest oak forest of the Iberian peninsula.
Camping with mountain view
The grounds are mostly level and numerous deciduous trees provide ample shade. The reasonably spacious, well demarcated pitches are located in rows on beautiful turf. You can choose a pitch near the pool or near the playground. Also possible: a pitch in a quieter location at the far end of the terrain. You have a view of the surrounding mountain landscape. The rental accommodation units (bungalows) also look very neat.
Swimming pool or the sea? Both, of course!
At Camping Valdevaqueros you have a choice between the camping site swimming pool and the sea, some 200 m from the camping site. You can get to the sea safely via a tunnel passage under the main road. At the seaside a superb sandy beach awaits you for endless walks.
The rectangular camping site swimming pool is ideal for swimming a few laps. Thereafter, you can relax on a lounger. There is also a special toddler pool. The swimming pool is surrounded by lawn.
Children's playground and walking tours
There is a children's playground as well as a sports field on the camping site. There is no entertainment or mini club. In peak season the camping site organises twice weekly guided walking tours. Tarifa (9 km from the camping site) offers a large variety of entertainment. There is a ferry service from Tarifa to the Moroccan town of Tanger.

Great location as it was a short walk across the road to the beach which is famous for kite surfing. The pool was really nice with grassed areas to sit and lay on and some shady areas too. Clean facilities, nice shady pitch...all really good...Staff were really friendly and helpful...we would come back here again definitely. Probably being just out of high season helped as it wasn\'t too busy or noisy but I imagine at peak times it would be very busy with lots of surfing fans camping here....
We were charged 4€ extra for a car because it was on a trailer. No pitch as such, we parked halfway down road from top of site. We were half on the road and half on the grass. Pitches had been flooded due to heavy rain. We were unable to have our motorhome awning out because of where we were parked. We could not put out our chairs. The site is scruffy, chemical disposal facilities are rubbish. No dedicated tap for putting drinking water in motorhome. Wifi is useless. Only advantage is is that the beach is nearby and there is a bread shop opposite. Handy for Tarifa. Attitude of barman, Christian needs addressing as he can be very rude and argumentative. Site is OK as a stop over to see Tarifa and Tangers but don\'t expect too much for your money..... Most of the staff on site are helpful.
We really liked this site. Pitches are a good size, demarcated by hedges and trees. Between each four pitches is box for electricity and water. Staff are friendly and helpful, bar and shop can meet most needs. The pool is very nice & has a lifeguard. The beach is a few minutes walk over the main road. Shower blocks were being improved ready for the summer. We would certainly return here.
The pitches are very pleasant and of good size. Music around the campsite started at 11 pm and seemed to go on for hours on a Saturday evening. Toilets could be cleaner!! Very close to beach for wind surfing.
Pitches very wet & muddy when visited could not drive on them, Staff very helpful. wifi only around reception,
good cycling along to Tarifa. Ferry to Tanger
Hot showers warm and clean.
Very helpful staff, a pleasant bar and a very comfortable pitch made this one of our favourite sites. The noise from the waves competed with the birds, and the smell from the plants was glorious. Add in the proximity to the beach and it really is a delight.
Since the new manager took this site over last year it has gone hill big time. The electric supply is not what they it is, well under 6 amps. Wifi is almost a complete waste of time. When I asked about the electric the manager was very rude. In fact he is not a very nice person. How he thinks he can run a campsite is beyond me. Will never stay there again, would rather park in a lay-by. Would NOT RECCOMEND.
The owner just wants money... dirty swimming pool... poor service at reception... the restaurant food is awful... the electricity supply is so low as to be useless... I would not recommend this campsite to anyone.
First time at this site. Although this site is still being updated, the toilet block was spotless, the showers were hot and the pitches were to a good standard. Very helpful and friendly staff who spoke some English (after all we are in Spain!!). Would not hesitate to come here again.
This was one of the best campsites, friendly helpful but since the changes & the site being rented out it is very poor, no entertainment & toilets that were spotless & always had paper have nothing of this standard anymore. The cafe & shop are under the same new tenant & are both very poor. The electricity is antiquated supposedly 6amp but it is nowhere near this & no facility for 10amp. What a shame from a very disappointed camper.
