Disliked - Campsite being next to a main road - too noisy. Not having car next to the tent.
Called in for a low season long term pitch. I would hope that as it was in the book that it would be OK. It does NOT deserve it's rating. It is terrible. Should have a special category of gypsy site. Permanent pitches take up seasonal ones making it almost impossible to locate a descent pitch. Scruffy, untidy, with facilities that JUST pass the mark. Disappointed to find it this guide at all. Go past it if you want decent pitches and facilities.
Planned to stay 2 weeks, touring pitches sloping and scruffy, better pitches taken by locals. Night 1 lot of road noise. Night 2 Spanish family with yappy dog. Went to recption 1 am security ask them to keep dog quite with no result. Complained to manager who said would speak to owners of dog. Owners went of for the day left dog in tent very distressed. 8 people complained to the site manager, who called the people back. After my fourth complaint I asked the manager if he was going to resolve the matter by enforcing the noise rules on the site. It was clear he had no backbone for the job and offered me another pitch. The other people affected by the noise had left and so did we.
Convenient for Marbella but very poor quality site. All the level pitches are taken by local family encampments plus others appear to be randomly taped which is convenient for the locals as it provides them with parking places for their cars. As a result nomads such as us are stuck with rough uneven and small pitches. Free but poor quality wifi at the bar. Convenient bus service to Marbella or Fungerella just out side.
The pitches at the campsite were a little steep and weren’t separated from each other by a fence or a bush. The toilet facility was renovated but in my opinion needed to be better and often cleaned. The lady at the reception wasn’t very helpful and pleasant. The wi-fi was covered only at the bar/restaurant. We also heard the noise from the A7 motorway especially at night which really disturbed us (we stayed somewhere in the upper side of the campsite). I wouldn’t stay there longer than one night.
There was a good welcome here. Pitches are varied but some are pretty decent. Toilet facilities are ok mostly and decent hot water in showers. The real issue here is the dual carriageway along the coast at the site entrance. Noise was not really a problem but the traffic on it varied from busy to exceptionally busy. Both for getting units in and out & simply walking along it we might have some reservations about staying again but if you can live with that the site is basically ok.
We were almost put off this site by previous reviews, but we went anyway. I\'m glad we did! Yes you have to search for a level pitch but we stayed longer than we intended and will return. No children so can\'t comment on child friendliness but the children we saw seemed happy. Facilities vey good and staff could not have been more helpful. No shop but three supermarkets within walking distance. We will return
Good, friendly site. Access from main road difficult for large units. Dual carriageway so travelling east you need to go to next exit some miles away of come off before and go through village and a single track road (not easy)
Liked - Nice friendly staff
Disliked - the unlit steps to the showers and the poor taps to get the hot water out.
Straight off the busy dual carriageway up to site entrance. Site is terraced and some of the junctions on the site are steep, so walking site first is critical to plan access to pitch. The pitches are roughly marked without hedges, or any barriers. Our 9m unit overlapped into the next pitch but this didn't cause any issues when other motorhomes came to pitch up. Numerous water points around and able to connect a hose to them. Many units long stay over winter but still plenty of pitches to choose from. Supermarket, bars and restaurants a walk away. Road noise not an issue.
We found the site really friendly and the bar had free WiFi.
Toilet facilities are good and one of the blocks has recently been modernized to a very good standard.
