Close to the university city of Salamanca, the capital city of the province with the same name, lies Camping Don Quijote. This hospitable campsite is an ideal holiday destination for sampling the Spanish culture and enjoying peace and quiet all year round. You can also sample the culture in the excellent restaurant. Explore the surrounding area by canoe on the Tormes river, or cycle to the historic centre of Salamanca.

Don Quijote shows the way

When you stay at camping Don Quijote, you are in the area of Salamanca, a historic city in the northwest of Spain. The campsite is just under four kilometres east of the centre of Salamanca, on the banks of the Tormes river. There, painted on a wall by the spacious entrance, you will see the man after whom the campsite is named: Don Quixote. He points you in the right direction, through the barriers, to the level, open terrain. And there you are, on one of the spacious touring pitches – especially suitable for motorhomes and caravans because of the hard surface.

On the Tormes

The campsite is right on the banks of the Tormes river, which starts in Prado Tormejón and flows past Salamanca to the Portuguese border. Those who love to fish should certainly take their rods. Note: you must arrange for a permit first.

Spanish local dishes

The restaurant at the campsite is widely known among the residents of the immediate vicinity. Many locals arrive in the evening to enjoy the ambiance and the local dishes. Paella is on the menu, of course, but meat dishes from the region are served as well.

When entering Salamanca from any direction: follow the signs to Plaza de España, then follow the signs to Aldealengua village. The campsite is 4 km on the right from Plaza de España.
