This place was quite a shock after a week camping in the French Alps. We had intended to stay for a few nights but packed up after only one. Massive, very institutional place, with tiny little pitches and all very exposed to one another and to noise. Publicised as being by the beach but the beach is in fact at least a ten minute walk down a very steep hill (or wait for the regular tractor-train to come by if that\'s your poison). Toilets and showers were fine, but accessible only by climbing steep steps which were fairly hazardous for our children at night. Reception staff were perfectly friendly but the chap serving breakfast in the cafe was downright rude. It might be somewhat unfair to compare with French campsites, which we discovered are generally far better value and less commercial in atmosphere than campsites on the Costa Brava, but it was certainly a rude awakening for us, and didn\'t seem remotely worth the price.
We stayed in august. Lovely views but hard site to walk up. staff very good and we had a lovely view from pitch.
This is a very steep terraced site & unfortunately our motorbike fell over on an awkward slope (our fault!). The staff could not have been more helpful, & by the time we left after nearly 2 weeks we felt we had made friends with them all! The food is simple but very well cooked and reasonably priced, as are drinks. There's a well-stocked shop, selling beach goods & books in several languages as well as food, & all facilities are very clean.
There are several small, pleasant beaches within easy walking distance, & some good footpaths. St. Pol is about 20 minutes away, a nice little town with good shops, bars & a Michelin-starred restaurant - and the train to the centre of Barcelona.
Camp sites and welcoming with a high standard. The peopple have a sincere desire to improve conditions for accommodating guests, the hosts are very friendly and very experimentate. I had an ideal holiday on this camp site.
