Second visit, and this time we stayed for 12 days. A much better site than gained from first appearances. Located right in the town, but is nonetheless safe and secure. In fact we left our motorhome for three days while we visited friends in Barcelona. Pitches flat and sandy, many large enough for big motorhomes. Individual fresh water and electricity facilities.
The town itself has more to offer than it appears. Just walk about. Market on Friday next to the campsite. Santa Suzanna is within hearty walking distance, with Lidl and a hypermarket. Or one stop on the train. Calella one stop in the train in the opposite direction, or an easy walk. Big market there on Wednesday.
We arrived thinking of a couple of days stay but left over three weeks later! Admittedly superb October weather was a major factor but the campsite is excellent. The ablutions block is constantly cleaned during the day. The swimming pool is excellent but was a bit on the cool side after rain (other than one wet day , the rain only occurred at night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a train every half hour to Barcelona with the last one back at 11.00 pm. The beach, 100m away, is about 10km long and backed by a cycle/footpath. The site is actually in a Spanish rather than a tourist town with all the shops etc that you would expect. I am sure that we will be back.
Toilets immaculate, though toilet paper is not provided so don't get caught short here.
Showers clean and lots of hot water.
Hand basins sparkling, but there is no soap or drying facilities(towels or dryers)
Pitches somewhat cramped and many taken up by long stay caravans and tents creating a crowded feeling. There is little to divide pitches, so no privacy whatsoever.
The restaurant is excellent and great value and the sangria on your first visit is a nice touch. All staff really friendly and helpful.
A great base for exploring further afield, though there is not much to do I. Pineda itself.
Very helpful and friendly staff very clean toilets/showers with plenty of hot water even though the site was busy as we were there at the weekend it was kept very clean and tidy East stroll into town would use again
what can I say this site is one of the best I bin to the staff are very helpful very clean pitches the loos very clean all I can say I will go back very soon
This was out 3rd stay. As ever, the staff were very friendly & helpful & facilities immaculate.
Unfortunately, there were far too many of one nationality on site [I am not referring to the Spanish families who are there at weekends], some in groups; some clearly had been visiting for many years & so knew one another, & they did somewhat dominate. We felt as if we had intruded into a private party! It was rather ghetto like. There were "gatherings" each evening, sometimes lasting well past midnight into the small hours. As pitches are small & tightly packed, the noise did not make for a relaxing stay & so we left far sooner than had been our intention when we headed for the site. Some regulation of noise after a certain time would be welcome.
Perhaps it's become too popular? The site clearly will not wish to turn custom away, but, if the site loses favour with that particular cohort, the owners may find that other campers have long since gone elsewhere in search of quiet relaxation.
We visited in May and the pitch was tight and the weather poor ,just been back excellent time a different pitch and such friendly helpful staff .
Toilets showers very clean and plenty of hot water.
Supermarket lady very friendly and all the staff .
Only negative very busy with the children being on holiday .
Very friendly helpful staff, toilets cleaned often through the day, super showers. Our pitch was on the newer part, level and large enough for car, caravan plus awning but the furthest from the toilet block. Very handy for the town & beach will certainly stay again when we are this way. Can be noisy when the Spanish are here from Barcelona but this is typical of Spanish sites at weekends & holidays.
Pitches small only allowed in the area near the road too far from toilet shower area, two sinks by the bins for washing vegetables etc, showers and toilets very clean water very hot, hard to regulate. Staff very pleasant, free wifi drifts a bit but free!
We started to tour Spain's East Coast first site we pitched at wa Enmar we stayed for 2 weeks. It was a great site for walking into town catching train to Barcelona or anywhere along the coast. Great bars and restaurants close to the Mediterranean. Great supermarkets, gift/newsagents etc. near site and open during our stay Oct. Would imagine this is a good site for a young family with a car but car is not a necessity. Would stay here again when next in area. Only downside it closes Nov - Mar!
