Our last night camping in Spain before we take our camper back to Sallent. And we couldn't want a more suitable place to spend it, lovely friendly people and great home cooking to put a smile on our faces. We arrived in 42c heat and lapped up to the well kept enticing pool. Couldn't recommend it more thank you
The best campsite and camping experience we have ever had, at home or abroad. After a long and exhausting drive, we were hungry, tired and trying to find any place to camp near Manresa, where we needed to be the next morning. What luck to have picked this gem! We had no reservation, but were met and greeted warmly by the proprietor, Jesus, his wife Conchita and their daughter, Africa. Lovely people, who tolerated with good humor my attempts to communicate in Spanish as they countered with their limited English. After a short tour of the campground amenities (which include a pool, barbecue area and the nicest bath and shower facilities ever, we were shown to their charming dining room in the 150-plus year-old stone-walled building and were served a delicious home-cooked meal from a menu of traditional Spanish dishes. The crema de Catalan dessert was similar to a creme brûlée and perfect to send us off to a long and very quiet night's sleep. I only wish he had more than one night to spend.
We were slightly hesitant to make the drive to the hidden paradise that is this jewel. We are so happy we did. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by the camp host and his lovely daughter. Their English was very limited, but we were able to get settled and make it to the restaurant for dinner. His wife greeted us with a smile and reviewed for us the selections for the evening. She promptly brought us a selection of meats and a green salad. The rest of our meal was fabulous. The wine selection was perfect for our evening. The pitches are spacious and the facilities are not only beautiful, old brick and timber. They are also clean as can be and modern too. They are located off the beaten path, but the surroundings, the host and hostesses were worth the trip. Should you be renting your RV from Sallent, it is a great location to start or end you adventure. I am from California and we have nothing this nice. We have traveled across the US and the same has not been found. Of our European trip, this was the best.
