Although only just out of season, the site was obviously closing down and running on a thin budget. The toilet block has seen better days and certainly in need of renovation. However, due to time of year, only two toilets and two showers were open to the whole site! Weather was not great and choice of pitches limited. Thank goodness we chose the hard standing as elsewhere was muddy. Certainly dies not warrant the higher level tariff and I understand why you only stay the one night and move on!
Nice shady pitches. Toilet/ shower blocks are very dated, but clean. Plenty of hot water. Best thing about this site is its proximity to Pamplona. Cycle track into city is lovely, an easy ride.
Our ratings reflect an out of season visit with only toilet block open. Everything else closed. Toilet block was fine but NOT heated so cold in there! New hard standing area was perfect in the constant rain. 4.6 mile walk into Pamplona was easy on paved footpath the whole way, very easy for cyclists.
A large site situated by a riverside cycle/footpath on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. Pamplona is 10 km away along the path (cycles can be hired from the campsite). Buses run from the nearby village of Oricain (a 1-km walk), where the little restaurant has good bar meals. The campsite restaurant is closed in winter, as is the camp shop, with a few items on sale in reception.
The Reception staff on duty weekdays are helpful and English-speaking, though the weekend caretaker speaks only Spanish and is difficult to deal with.
The grass pitches are very muddy when wet but there is a small hard-standing area for motorhomes.
The WiFi works well throughout the site but is expensive at €5 per day, with no longer-term tickets available. The laundry/wash-up room has a washing machine and a drier, again at above-average price.
The toilet/shower rooms are clean but the water remained tepid throughout our stay and the building was extremely cold. A one-bar heater comes on very briefly if you walk past it, making no difference at all in the large room. The ACSI Card rate (the top price) is too much, with nothing being invested in winter facilities.
No wonder that most campers at this time of year just stay one night, passing through on their way north or south.
A great campsite if you travel with dogs. Spacious with lots of places to walk both on and off site. The food here is good and the roast chicken (pre order to takeaway) is always nice. House wine really good too.
Water in ladies showers takes ages to get hot so patience is needed
After staying the previous night at an another camping most sites suffer by comparison. Unless you plan to visit the city I wouldn\'t recommend this campsite. The shop wasn\'t open, there was a small (overpriced) selection of goods in the reception. The pool was closed despite the heat. Many of the pitches are very open and barren. Expensive Wifi. We wouldn\'t stay again.
We visited mid May and a lot of the campsite was closed and roped off, although I think that was so that they could get the grass in good condition for the summer. It was difficult to work out where the washrooms were but once we found it they were clean and good powerful shower. The swimming pool was not yet open but the children\'s playground was good and there was a table tennis table that was being used. Very handy site for Pamplona with good cycle path, but watch out as some of the signs are not easy to follow and we had to retrace our steps a couple of times. Nice little bar that was open. WiFi not free.
Only stayed one night. Grass pitches and at that time of the year far too wet to use, had to park on tarmac.
Shower block cold but hot water showers, washing machines 9 Euro for wash & dryer, Wifi 1 euro for 1 hour. Not very good. Good cycle routes into Pamplona.
Electric pod had no earth connection.
Very wet murky 24 hours.
e arrived on 21st of march 2015 to a wet campsite and met by a rather unwelcoming man who after taking my details took us to where he wanted us to park. As it was wet we were told no grass pitches, we had to park on the hard roadways between pitches. This was understandable as the grass was very wet and we did not want to get bogged down with our motorhome.
The man took us to where he wanted me to park, but i was not happy so asked if we could move around to another spot as we would have had to step out onto wet muddy grass. After getting set up with electric had a look around and found only one toilet block open and no restaurant or cafe to get drinks or something to eat.
Next morning i took a shower which was okay in as much as the water was hot, but my wife fared less as their water was tepid so she ended up using the gents as it was quiet. When i told the man on reception, he grunted i told you wait 5 minutes and water will be hot, in my case it was right but i explained that the ladies did not get hot even after longer than 5 minutes, his reaction was i will take a look..
Overall I would not recommend this campsite to anyone who wants a stoppover for a night as the cost is higher than other campsites we have used this year and facilities are not what we expect, with very basic facilities and a not very welcoming host.It is a pity as we found that there were very few campsites around the Pamplona area for the time we were visiting using acsi sites. The city was well worth the visit even though it was cold and damp.
This is a great campsite for visiting the beautiful city of Pamplona which is 10km away. There is a great well kept bicycle path which runs all the way to the city also (9km) with a couple of small villages on the way for coffee stops. The facilities are good, plenty of hot water. We stayed two nights and will return next time we are in the area.
