The cheerful camping site Armanello is situated in the province of Alicante near Benidorm, between the mountains and the sea. There is a wonderful beach of fine sand and you will enjoy the lovely climate through the year. You camp in Armanello within walking distance of the centre, boulevard and sea. Everyone is welcome: families, young people who are here to enjoy the beach and discos, but also senior citizens spend winter here and stay in comfortable bungalows.
A varied terrain
The terrain is divided in an older section at the front (only permanent pitches) and a new section at the back. The new section looks well maintained with a tent area and a 'district' with bungalows. A part of the tent area looks more like a camping site for the youth: lots of small tents close to each other. The sites are beautifully laid out, with alternating sunny pitches and pitches partly under trees.
On the new section along neatly paved streets are 31 surprisingly modern rental accommodation units. These range from small barrel homes, larger sleephouse cottages and mobile homes to cheerful and brightly coloured luxury bungalows (air-conditioning, TV, microwave, large fridge, veranda). This 'district' looks rather barren: not a blade of grass in sight. However, here and there is a hedge or palm tree.
When you come here to swim in the sea, it is only a 1.5 km walk from the camping site. The beach here is one of the most attractive in the country, with white fine sand. There is also a swimming pool on the camping site (60 m2) with grass lawn, sun loungers, sun umbrellas, palm trees, terrace and bar.

This is our sixth visit to this site and will be the last as it seems to be getting progressively worse every year. There are many cats and dogs on the site which belong to the permanent residents. People feed the cats and then they leave their faeces in our pitch and underneath our caravan which smells vile and you walk it into the caravan. When I complained to the site manager, his reply was \"not my cats\". He didn\'t offer to do anything about removing the mess. My wife and I were both unwell this year which we put down to contamination from the above. Other people on the site were also unwell and complained about the cats mess. I\'ve seen the site a lot cleaner in the past. The new toilet block has very smelly drains. Although it appears clean, it does smell from the drains.
Our first visit to the area as we wanted to stop over at Benidorm for Christmas. We have been on the site for 3 weeks now and are thinking of staying for another two. An easy walk into Benidorm to the extensive shopping centre, a whole variety of restaurants, cafes and vars + the beautiful beach. The ACSI price includes up to 4 KW electricity per day. The sanitary facilities are for the most part new or nearly new ~ and kept spotlessly clean. A super site, very friendly, all camp site staff cheerful and helpful. We have not experienced the negative comments in other reviews. Very highly recommended!
Nice site. Groovy staff.
Did not accept ACSI ID as id. Wanted passport. Wifi is close to non-existent. Had to persuade the office to allow payment in Euros on my British card.
Nice campsite, two lovely pools, lady behind the counter at reception take with a pinch of salt, WiFi was good but only one device per unit. If you require a second it's seven euros a week. We enjoyed our stay.
Attempted to book in on 14th September 2014. Although there were larger pitches empty, we were only offered very small plots, which we could not possibly get our caravan in! One of them would have been a struggle for a tent! The lady at reception was very unhelpful and said the larger plots were booked. The site was very untidy. Washing drying everywhere. Glad we left. Moved onto Benisol (nearby). Much more helpful and nice environment.
Did not like this soulless campsite. Despite the ACSI info. There was no toilet paper or soap in lavs. which were only cleaned to a minimum exceptable standard. Nor were the pool, childrens pool and games room open.
The site is approached from the N332a along a narrow road with limited passing places. The site itself was almost full of campers over-wintering and with only a few pitches available and access to those difficult. Overall it appeared somewhat untidy, although the toilets/showers were clean. It is 1 km from Levante beach.
