Very good site with excellent facilities and a great restaurant. Very good pool area on south part of site but the north section is quieter. Only problem we had was with sticky berries on the ground which if you weren\'t careful got trodden into the motorhome and stained the carpet!
We have just left this site after spending Easter there, we don\'t have children so did not comment on this. Please be aware that if you spend any Saturday nights there that there is a venue which is let out and is very very loud, sometimes 5am. We did complain and were given a free night, which did not really compensate for a sleepless night.
We also did not find the restaurant staff very friendly, apart from the lady.
If you like barking dogs then this site is for you. Having said all the negatives this site is in a little very lovely resort with a great beach and the old town is well worth a visit as is Papa Luna\'s castle
Couple + Car + 7m Caravan
With a little thought & care access to the pitches is not too much of a problem.
We loved this site, the staff were helpful & efficient, the facilities were excellent, clean and plentiful. The water and sink to each pitch was an unexpected bonus particularly as I had my hose pipe & tap adapter to connect straight into my caravan.
The function room at the back of the restaurant was used a couple of times at the weekend when we visited but the noise did not bother us, although it may be worse in the high season.
El Eden had a warm homely feeling, everyone seemed friendly & sociable despite our language barriers.
Definitely one to return to if we are in the area again.
Really liked this site for our 4 day stay in Feb. Trees trimmed at this time of year so not dark during our stay. Site full but quiet. Mainly older clientele here for winter. Lots of nationalities. Lovely newish toilet block was warm and cosy on cold days and impeccably clean. There is now a self service laundry as well as service wash. 5 machines and 2 dryers. Great location for Peniscola beach and town, just back from seafront promenade. The old town including shops and restaurant was quiet/ semi closed in the week, but more lively at weekend with day trippers. On site restaurant very good with great value menu of the day (voucher from reception) including 4 courses and bottle of wine for 11 euros.
Surprised this campsite would not allow us to use our ACSI card for 7 nights from 30th December. We could not get our new card in time for the end of December (delays by the UK supplier). They would only allow us 4 nights ACSI and wanted 29 euro per night afterwards! So we opted to move on, a loss of nearly 60 euros to the site and plenty of spare pitches! Does not make commercial sense!
A very big site in 2 areas either side of the road. We were fortunate to be away from the pool as it was very noisy. Staff very helpful and speak good English. Ground like concrete so stout pegs required. Lovely beach and promenade 2 minutes walk away. Will definitely return again.
Well located campsite right on the beach and a 20 minute stroll along the promenade from Peniscola itself. Cycle lane marked out along the promenade. The site is split in two by a small road. Both sides are securely fenced with barriers and public access via a key. We were booked in for 10 nights but only managed 6 due to howling neighbourhood dogs keeping us awake - not the campsite's fault but still spoilt it for us. Reception excellent and open long hours with fresh bread and croissants from 8:30am. On site café/bar and restaurant and sufficient bars and restaurants in Peniscola to meet demand in the off season. On site supermarket was closed despite site being 85% occupied and nearest one was about 1km away. Metal sink in each plot very useful. Many plots are not suitable for large and/or tall units due to low overhanging trees, some of which are in the middle of plots!! The campsite's own website has a site plan and dimensions for each pitch and it is well worth planning ahead and choosing your pitch carefully. The lanes between pitches are quite narrow and corners tight. You can reserve a particular pitch if you book through the website and pay a deposit. Wouldn't recommend arriving after dark. No self service washing machines but campsite offer a laundry service the price depends on what temperature they wash at. You have to pay for Wi-Fi. Good signal but can be slow at peak times.
A wonderful site close to the beach and the beautiful old town. A wonderful on site restaurant with very helpful staff
Stayed here for just 2 nights so we could finally visit the castle in Peniscola. Campsite was really good, we will come back for a longer stay, as Pensicola has much more to offer. Lovely Spanish holiday resort.
Nothing negative to say about this campsite. We chose a pitch behind reception on the quieter side of the campsite, away from the pool and bar area. Recommended.
