A pleasant site with grass and trees near the Lido. A bus pass is included with the fee, but there is an easy 20 to 30 minute pleasant walk into the centre of Lucerne alongside the Lake.
Camping Lido was a well organized site in a great location to visit Lucerne. Really could not fault the park itself but we received a very grumpy reception from staff which is not a good start to holiday so we made sure we did not go to restaurant or shop as to not have to deal with them again. We really did enjoy and would recommend this site despite the cranky lady staff. Don't both with internet it was so costly just use free sites in town.
We stayed here for two nights hoping to be a base to complete the Golden Round Trip up to Mt Pilatus. Unfortunately, the first day we arrived at 12:10pm their reception had just closed for check-in until 3:00pm. While we were able to drive in during that time and pick our site while waiting to check-in, by the time they reopened for check in and I got information about how to get to the train station to start our journey, it was too late to do the Golden Round trip. The next day it rained, therefore, we never got to go.
Other than that, the campsite was good for a couple of nights. The pitches had gravel for caravans and there was a separate section for tents that were all grass. The sites are mostly open with no hedges separating the plots. The bathrooms were very clean and there was a large washing station for dishes. The campsite also had washing machines and dryers for clothes (at least 2 each). Finally, there was a restaurant in the campground that looked busy with lots of food options, however, we never did not eat there as we had lots of food.
There was plenty to do around the campsite including a short walk to a park on the lake, mini golf down the road, and a small playground for kids on-site. It was also only a 200m walk to the closest bus stop to get to town.
I thought the campsite was expensive for two people and a caravan with electricity (even by Switzerland standards). It did not include internet either which cost an additional amount for two days (although it was insanely fast which made up for the additional cost)!
Overall, I would stay here again and recommend others to do so. It is well kept and close to transport. I would just advise about the reception closure between 12:00pm - 3:00pm and recommend an early arrival if you are hoping to visit Mt. Pilatus the same day you arrive.
A nice site, within walking distance of the town, or if you prefer the tram or a water ferry in to the town, they are close by too. Camping with 2 small tents, the pitch was just adequate. Toilet facilities are very good. Shop is basic, but OK for snacks and pop, restaurant is basic, but sells ok pizza. We stopped 2 nights.
This campsite is very nice. Stayed one night here.
There isn't a pool on site but the lido is a 5 second walk and only costs 5 euros!
Toilets are clean.
The site is reasonably priced for Switzerland.
Walking distance to center of Lucerne too
Beautiful mountain views and Lake Lucerne yards away with Lucerne a 30 min walk or bus ride away. The receptionist is superb, talked good English, really good at helping and nothing but nothing was too much trouble, we loved her! Bathroom facilities are really good and clean, will visit again.
