A revisit to this site for us as a stopover, it is expensive site for us at CHF 28 including the taxes. The site is under new owners from our last visit and they are doing work to the site, there seems to be less trees and better space. Pitches are marked and good size, mainly level. Swiss electrics but you can borrow an adaptor for a deposit at reception. Good wash block facilities, hot showers, large area, toilet paper. Area to walk dog just outside the campsite, very helpful and friendly staff. Swimming pool not open to comment.
A pleasant site with excellent children facilities. There are cycle tracks by the site and pleasant wooded walks. A special plug adapter is required but this can be got from Reception with a returnable deposit.
This is a real gem of a site, set amongst the trees it offers some sun and shade at various times of the day. We found the owner really pleasant and the surrounding area with all the cycle paths a delight. The swimming pool is a lovely addition to the site. Originally intended as a stopover site we stayed 4 days and would have stayed more if time had allowed. Locarno is just a short drive or a longer cycle away and is picture perfect. Will definately return there is nothing here not to like.
This is a good location close to Lake Maggiore. Some of the pitches are on the small side or our 7m tent. We did a beautiful drive into the mountains as the weather was not great one day. Through Ascona, Santa Maria Maggiore to Domodossola and then down the motorway and back along the Lake (by which time the sun was out). The road goes right along the lakeside and you can stop for lunch at beautiful Cannobio. Go through the town and there is a car park on the right suitable for vans and car with top boxes. Only a short walk from the end of the promenade. The campsite had a good sized pool and good toilet facilities. The restaurant was popular but we did not try it. The owners were German and helpful but a little unfriendly. I did not get a smile out of them. Down the road in the supermarket everything is in Italian. Euros can be used but you will get the change in Swiss Francs. We managed to spend ours on coffees on the motorway. Do not forget to buy your vignette.
Camp site with rustic charm set amongst trees. Mainly level pitches, chocks only needed to make van exactly level. Toilet facilities excellent, staff very helpful. Used as a stop over for travelling south. Several annual pitches but didn\'t detract. Dodgy electrics so we had to use our gas. Shaded pitches, Peaceful.
A large compact site with about 200 pitches including some permanent caravans. The pitches are on grass and mostly under trees and the pitches are quite close together.
The toilet and shower blocks were modern and clean. Hot water was free.
The site has a small shop and bread etc can be ordered. There is also a nice restaurant and bar on site as well as an outdoor swimming pool.
There is a motor home service point as well as a chemical disposal point.
Although the site is in Switzerland but close to the Italian border we found that they did accept Euro’s as currency as well as Swiss Francs.
We found we needed a special type of electrical adaptor (not the usual continental type) for the Mains electric but the reception had one that we were able to borrow.
We arrived here on a Friday and the traffic in the area was horrendous but the camp site is well signed. Do not use Sat nav but follow the directions in the ACSI book !
