Nice site in the countryside, we received a friendly welcome. Handy for Cambridge. Toilets etc clean and adequate. No wifi
We have used this site on numerous occasions when visiting the nearby Papworth Hospital. It is an immaculately maintained site with very friendly owners who always remember repeat visitors and treat you like friends. There are several different areas for caravans, Motorhome sand tents and several washblocks. One is old but incredibly clean and the others are more modern and equally spotless. There is plentiful hot water for showers and washing up etc. Pitches are available on hard standing and grass and there are large open areas ideal for children to play. The site is open and sunny but there are high hedges behind the pitches which protect you when windy. The site has several pretty villages nearby with a variety of pubs and restaurants. Cambridge is easily accessible although Motorhome need to travel down to the Trumpington site. There is a good information cabin with lots of leaflets about local attractions. The site is made special though by the owners who really look after you and they take good care of my husband when he is a solitary visitor when I am in hospital. Thoroughly recommend it if you want a friendly, well kept, quiet site for a relaxing break.
We have stayed here on several occasions although recently it has only been my husband whilst I have been an in patient at a local hospital. This time 8 was also able to stay for 4 nights. There is always a very warm welcome from the owners who go out of their way to help you. There are 4 different areas, adults only, camping without ehu , family and a top field of mixed pitches. This means nowhere feels crowded. Everything is very well maintained. Grass is cut short and cuttings collected so no tramping it into your van. The showers and toilet blocks are immaculate. Pitches are on grass or hard standing and all are nice and open to get the sun. Location is perfect for visiting Cambridge,Duxford museum, local national trust properties etc and it is just a lovely place to relax for a few days. There is a small shop at reception and the village is not far away. No Wi-fi but good. 4g reception. A good distance for a stop too and from the North Sea ports. No sports facilities but plenty of space for children to run around and play and a dedicated dog walk.
Can’t wait to return for another few days relaxation in such friendly surroundings.
