We stayed just one night as a stop over before boarding the ferry. As it was a Monday and the pub was closed so we didn’t get to sample the food. The sit is clean and well maintained would defiantly stay there again.
The nearest campsite to Harwich, on a large field behind the Strangers Home pub in Bradfield village. The new owner has improved the toilet/shower blocks, though the washing-up area remains basic. Free WiFi only works in the bar/restaurant.
Camping is overpriced, though the ACSI book says that ferry passengers get a discount on their first night (as I have in the past). The new owner insisted that he no longer gave this discount but offered me the same reduction for having an ACSI Card, though he is not in that scheme. He needs to decide what offer he offers! I found him very confrontational.
Didn\'t try the food as we arrived late from the ferry and the bar didn\'t open until noon next day.
Luckily it has a new owner who runs it himself personally and has high standards.
Everything is now clean and bright. They now have only nice holiday makers.
A lovely family campsite in a beautiful village.
Now the best pub and campsite around?
A great place to stay when using the Hook of Holland /Harwich ferry.
