We booked this as a convenient stop for our final hop to the Eurotunnel to end our French adventure. And what a lovely site it is. Quiet, compact, with facilities, (toilet and showers, bins, chemical toilet) that are, or look brand new. Everything is clean. Beware though, no toilet paper, so don’t get caught out. There is a restaurant and games room which had wifi service, but there is no Wi-fi service at your pitch. The pitches are all various sizes and mixed in with plots for privately owned caravans as well as holiday chalets and caravans. At the rear of the park, where we stayed, there is a long playing area with a small park for children, and the inevitable pétanque areas, along with some picnic benches for everyone’s use. All the pitches were mowed, and tidy, and there are taps at intervals throughout the pitch. There is a washing area for clothes with a washing machine that takes tokens, but unfortunately no dryer or public washing lines, so our hopes of making a start on the holiday washing were dashed. The lady who booked us in was lovely, and spoke good English, and very friendly, going out of her way to make sure that we had the pitch we wanted, (one out of the way as we have a rather large GSD who can frighten people without even trying, even though he’s an old softie). The Restaurant is only open between 6pm and 8pm currently as it’s early in the season, and we didn’t get to try it out this time, as we had stocked up the fridge. We’ll certainly try it next time, as it’s a great stop off point for going on holiday or the return journey. Well worth a visit.
Quiet site 25 minutes from ferry, good stop off point both girls that run the site are helpful and pleasant, food good reasonable price.
Very nice campsite, we used as a safe stop on way back to Calais. Playground for the kids, bar for mum & dad, very clean and tidy showers, will definitely use again and happy to recommend.
Stayed for three nights on my way back to England. Very friendly and helpful ladies running the site. Their version of Welsh Rarebit was brilliant! I ate in the small restaurant every night as a treat. Their shower block was the best I’ve ever used. As I’m a singleton I cannot comment on aspects which do not apply for me but I thoroughly recommend this site.
We have used this site a few times now. Very convenient for Calais. The two girls keep everywhere neat and tidy, and the pitches are hedged and a reasonable size. The showers/wc/laundry areas are smart and clean. Hot water however, has been a problem for some time, which is a real shame as I would rather not be negative. Off-lead dog walking is possible by turning right out of the campsite, and after a couple of hundred yards right into fields.
Excellent campsite. Very good value for money, the whole site is very well maintained, peaceful and quite. The toilets / showers are immaculate and hot water was free. The meal I had was excellent and the beer even better. Only stayed for one night as returning home via tunnel but would definitely use this site again.
Stayed at Campsite Saint Louis for 2 nights on our way home from Spain. We found the 2 girls to be very helpful and welcoming. We booked our ferry from Calais from our last stop and needed the confirmation printed off, I forward it to Campsite Saint Louis and Laura printed it off for me, she actually brought it round to our pitch. We had a meal in the restaurant the night before we left and the meal was excellent, it is not a big menu but value for money. The toilet and shower facilities are second to none. We will certainly stay there again.
Extremely welcoming staff. Good pitch.Site well maintained. Toilets and showers cleaned to an excellent standard. Well situated for Euro tunnel. Competitive priced compared to some others eg Bien Aussie however that site has extra facilities if you need them.
Fantastic site, amazing owners who brought lunch supplies to our caravan because we had arrived without food. Large pitch hedges and grass immaculate, fabulous shower facilities, the whole site is excellent and safe. To round it off lovely dinner and wine in the on site brasserie. Will only use this Calais site in future.
Stayed once on the way south and was so good we stayed again on our return trip. The ladies are so helpful and friendly. We have a 9m, 7 tonne motorhome with car on trailer and they accommodated us without any fuss. (advance notification). Easy access to site and camper dump at entrance. Loo block is modern and spotless. Food, although limited in choice, is excellent and served with a lovely smile! Try the cafe gourmand! Close to Ardres vet ( 5 minutes), 2 supermarkets and fuel. 30 mins from Calais central. Will visit again.
