Camping Les Plages de l’Ain is beautifully situated in a wooded area, some 30 km from Lyon. The campsite lies on the banks of the river l’Ain, a location guaranteed to offer children hours of fun. The campsite is a good base for walking and cycling trips or excursions in the area, such as Lyon or the medieval town of Pérouges.

Shaded or sun-drenched

The campsite makes a well maintained impression with spacious, level camping pitches on a grass surface and neat sanitary facilities. Some pitches are demarcated with greenery. Numerous trees ensure shaded pitches, but for sun lovers there are also sunny sites. The sizes of the pitches are not all the same. The pitches for tents are slightly smaller. Scattered over the grounds are mobile homes. bungalow tents and cheerful Coco tents.

Building dams in the river

Children are sure to enjoy themselves on this friendly campsite. They can indulge themselves in the playground, swim in the two small swimming pools or build dams in the river l'Ain, which can be reached via a direct access from the campsite. Fishing is allowed in the river and in high season canoeing and kayaking trips are organised.

Morning exercises and outdoor laser game

The swimming pool is in a sunny location. In the summer months you can start the day with sporty morning exercises. There is an outdoor laser game for aficionados. In high season you can enjoy regional dishes in the restaurant (limited menu). The friendly owner regularly organises activities during the months of July and August, such as a concert or barbecue.

Liked - Rustige camping, prima onderhouden. Leuke rivier met zwemgelegenheid, stroming, dammetjes bouwen. Hele ruime plaatsen, je caravan past altijd. Vriendelijke eigenaren, meneer spreekt goed Engels.
Disliked - Speeltuin is wat karig, er staat een toestel met klimmen/glijden, tafeltennistafels en een voetbalveldje. Zwembad ook wat saai met kiezels rondom het zwembad, maar dat wordt goedgemaakt door de rivier. Entertainment voor kinderen is vooral met de dieren. Als de kinderen dat niet willen (of in ons geval allergisch) dan blijft alleen nog het laserschieten (erg leuk!) en boogschieten over.
Veel doortrekkers.

Liked - We hebben 2,5 week op de camping gestaan en ons geen moment verveeld. De rivier is super, het zwembad is goed voor verkoeling. In de omgeving is veel te doen. Dorpjes, wandelingen, kanoën, Canyoning (dat is iets verder weg) en een bezoekje aan Lyon. De animatie bestaat voornamelijk uit activiteiten met de dieren en er wordt Frans gesproken. Dat is voor Nederlandse kinderen wel een barrière.
De receptie is super vriendelijk, evenals het personeel bij het restaurant.
Disliked - Het sanitair wordt volgend jaar vernieuwd, dat zal de camping ten goede komen.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Liked - Wij hebben wederom 3 weken op deze camping gestaan. Gastvrije eigenaar, leuk personeel. Voldoende uitstapjes in de buurt. Veel Nederlandse gezinnen ook met kinderen tussen de 4 - 13 jaar. Het zwembad is klein maar prima voor de grote van de camping. De rivier is echt top, over het algemeen kunnen de kinderen staan, er is maar één diep gedeelte. S'avonds kun je er ook prima vissen! Ik beveel deze camping dan ook ten zeerste aan voor een verblijf van minimaal 2 weken.

Liked - Mooie plek en chalet, De camping was netjes er was alles wat we nodig hadden.
Disliked - Aan het eind moesten we de douche schoonmaken waar ook kalk zat terwijl dat er al was wat wij niet hebben gedaan.

Toiletten werden slecht schoongehouden, vieze stinkhokken, douches waren netjes
tussen 12h-14h kun je de camping niet op dan is de receptie dicht
mevrouw van de receptie is wel heel vriendelijk, en heeft ons goed geholpen met mooie fietsroutes

de camping staat 100 meter van het riviertje, hier heb je vanaf de camping geen zicht op, het riviertje is wel heeeeeeeeel mooi, zeker voor kinderen, luchtbedje mee en je kunt lekker mee laten slepen over de rivier
