The staff were not very friendly and the pitches were all very muddy and in poor condition. Wifi was extortionately priced at 3€ per hour and there were neither bar or restaurant facilities open during our visit. We stayed 2 nights but wish it had been only 1.
This is the first bad review I have ever written. The shower facilities are the worst I have ever used in all my travels having caravan-ed since 1969. The other minor draw back is very near main roads and multi-track rail lines. I would never ever return there.
The toilets. The shower blasted out at 100kmh so you couldnt stand under the water and the pushbutton lasted 5 seconds. We wanted to leave the car connected for an early getaway, we were ordered to seperate the car from the caravan or pay for 2 pitches....despite the camp being less than 25% full. A few other cars were parked on 2 pitches, guess they are anti-british. Muddy sloping pitches with an electrical point at either end, park in the middle, it wont reach.
Located near a railway line and main road, so the site is a bit noisy. The shop was not well stocked and had basic items only for sale. The restaurant was not open during our visit. There is a supermarket within 15 minutes walk. There were a few decent walks in the vicinity of the site. There was only hot water in the ablutions in the morning.
Site easy to reach from the motorway travelling West. Within walking distance of Durlach and can get a tram into Karlesruhe. Can't get into the site during lunchtime 1pm-3pm. May need a long lead for the electric as not enough electric points on some rows. WiFi not working and had to use tokens for the barrier as that not working properly when we were there. Site fills up quickly in the afternoons as used as a stopover. Stayed 2 nights. Toilet facilities good. Heated and soap and toilet roll provided. Karlesruhe not very interesting at the moment as rebuilding work and road works everywhere. Took ages to get back onto the motorway travelling west because of this. Would use as a stopover again and for visiting other places in the area.
Well signposted but the route (coming from the north) is a long way around Karlsruhe and takes some time especially if traffic is busy. Bit of a walk to shops - the campsite shop has very little. Some road noise - virtually under a fly over, and some trains. Limited walking nearby. Leaving to head south was far more direct.
We felt that at 29.50 per night was very expensive. Toilet facilities were very poor---- no soap, hand drying facilities, very poor indeed. we have stayed at cheaper sites with far better facilities. Will we be staying again--- I don't think so.
