A location along the lovely spring river Werra with forested mountains as a background and the historic town of Hannoversch Müden nearby: this is the fantastic location of Spiegelberg Camping and Gasthouse. The surrounding area offers idyllic river landscapes and endless forests where you can cycle and wander for hours. The art city of Kassel is not far away.

Along the river

The grounds are flat, spacious, well laid out and is perfectly maintained. It extends along the river. The tents, caravans and campers are all on good grassy ground. There is no delineation between the sites. Guests can choose a spot with or without shade. There is also hotel accommodation and there are fully furnished bungalow tents for hire.

Beautiful view

In the hotel of Spiegelberg Camping and Gasthaus, there is a restaurant with simple cuisine and changing (seasonal) dishes. It also has a terrace with a beautiful view of the lovely surroundings. Groceries are in limited supply at the campsite.

Sanitary facilities

The sanitation building is great and is kept sufficiently clean. There is a street between the sanitation building and the campsite.

Live music

In the hotel there is sometimes live music and every first Saturday of the month is pancake day. For city fun, you need to go to the nearby historic town of Hannoversch Münden, about 7.5 k away. Hikers and cyclists will love the surrounding area. For cyclists, there are four long cycling routes from Hannoversch Münden along the Weser, Werra and Fulda rivers. The river Werra also offers fun for paddlers in canoes or kayaks.

Travelling party: Couple

Schön gelegener, einfacher aber sehr sympathischer Platz. Freundliche Betreiberinnen. Die Sanitäranlagen sind in die Jahre gekommen und liegen auf der anderen Straßenseite sind aber sauber und soweit ok. Die in der Nähe des Platzes verlaufende Straße und Bahnstrecke sind zu hören was aber wegen des geringen Verkehrs nicht störend war.

Travelling party: Couple

Schöner Platz für die Durchreise im Tal direkt am Fluss. Sehr motivierte neue Betreiber die aber noch einiges an Arbeit vor sich haben (was sie auch wissen). Bahn ist zwar zu hören (auch Nachts wegen Güterverkehr), stört aber eigentlich nicht.
Sanitärbereich über Landstraße erreichbar.

Travelling party: Seniors

Der Campingplatz Spiegelburg ist ein kleiner Platz an der Werra. Einiges wirkt noch recht schlicht, aber der telefonische Vorabkontakt und der Empfang bei der Ankunft war sehr freundlich. Die Sanitäranlagen sind sauber und der Platz ist gepflegt. Bahnstrecke und Straße/Autobahn sind sehr nahe, haben uns aber nicht wirklich gestört.
Schade nur, dass es für Wohnmobile keine Grauwasserentdorgung gibt und nur in der Gaststätte WLAN ist.
Alles in allem haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und fahren den Platz bestimmt nochmals an.

Sehr schön gelegener Platz, direkt an der Stadt und Schiffsanleger. Man kann von hier aus schöne Radtouren und Ausflüge machen.
